Truly deceptive

Nice dictation app if you want something that WILL NOT work with Olympus ODMS software. After I downloaded the app, I tested and liked the way it worked and thought I could avoid buying the $499 Olympus recorder to go with the $349 Olympus transcription software - WRONG. It records in a format not usable by Olympus transcription software. However, I was able to download the Recorder Pro app, and it works perfectly with the $349 Olympus transcription software. With Recorder Pro I can email mp3 files to my secretary for her to type. The Olympus Dictation app is getting deleted after I write this review.

Very good alternative to the recording device, easier to move files. Would be nice if not sent files (first attempt) did not go to the Sent folder, otherwise the user has to make a copy to resend. It takes space and confuses file management.

As another reviewer stated, this app is fairly deceptive. It does not allow you to record in a format other than m4a and so the files are not usable with Olympus transcription software. To get a useable format you have to get a license to Olympus “ODDS” service which is another $150 bucks if you can even figure out how to get it. Do not waste your money or time on this app. It is awful.
