ADVANTAGES - Broad range of search and filtering options - Searching a location name or zip code returns all properties with that location or zip in the address (seems reasonable), even though multiple listings may appear to fall outside of the correlating map area (Zillow tends to only show results within the matching geographic zone--try searching Atlanta, GA homes on both platforms). This can be a positive point if you simply want that identifier in your addy, or a distraction if you're more focused on boundary limits - Color coded search results in the map area - Responsive to changes in search parameters and map scrolls (i.e., quickly updates search results) - Route directions kick out to your device's native map application - Provides data on the neighborhood where the property is located and pricing/listing history - Easy to share a listing with others OPPORTUNITIES - Visibility to market estimates of surrounding off market properties - Ability to directly save property images or an entire property profile to your mobile device for offline access - Option to order the list of saved properties by the date added - Allow any dollar price range to be set as the search parameter, not just pre-determined dollar points (the Movoto app offers increments of $25K starting at $100K--this can be problematic if searching for smaller lots to build on--then goes to $50K increments at the $400K mark) - Function to draw a search parameter or drop a map pin and enter a search radius (useful for targeting specific zones within an area that is formally defined in a broader context, or for exploring areas along an artery that passes through various formal designations) - Include contact info for the listing agent or agency, not just a contact option that redirects to a random realtor or broker agency - Push alerts for properties matching one or more of your saved searches as you are traveling through a city (assumes location services are enabled)
