Needs overhaul

The scan feature is long overdue. So it’s good to see it being addressed. But it’s ineffective and worthless. For one, when scanning a ticket it doesn’t allow you to take ticket barcode into view but rather rapidly scans whatever camera is pointing at. So it’s not “smart” and doesn’t wait till you have barcode in parameters. It will snap a scan whether pointing at ticket or your leg and then tell you you aren’t a winner. DO NOT THROW OUT TICKETS AFTER SCANNING. Wait for overhaul. Also, this shouldn’t be limited at all - you should be able to check whatever tickets you have. But you can’t bc it automatically snaps scan shots and wastes your attempts. Please overhaul this thing so it can serve the public and retailers
Only allowed to scan 10 tickets per day ????

Why in the world would you limit scanning of only 10 tickets a day? How does limiting the scans per day in an app help a person addicted to gambling / numbers? It doesn’t. If a person does have a gambling problem, they are just going to go hog up the scanner in the store to scan all their tickets.
This Update Was A Waste of Time...

The good news... Finally after years of complaining (when other states i.e. New Jersey) the ability to scan & check tickets has arrived. The bad news... You can't use this feature without setting up an account which demands your email address. I don't have to create an account with the NJ app and my email address isn't demanded to use the scan ticket feature. WHY IS THE NY APP DEMANDING MY EMAIL ADDRESS? I've had it with this app! Since I can't use the scan ticket feature without handing over my email address... I'M GOING TO DELETE IT! USELESS & AN IRRITATING WASTE OF TIME!

Every time i open the app it does mot give me the latest info.if i want the latest info i go to google and tue ny lottery and go to past numbers in the browser and find latest info much quicker. The orange, green and red backgrounds are extremely difficult to read the date the numbers are referring to. Also you cannot see how many winners and the amount won on the lottery games but you can on the other site mentioned above. It also limits the amount of scans bit do not truly trust that feature. Who ever is doing the updates needs to test before putting it out for updatrs

Please get rid of the limit to 10 scans also bring scratch off to the app so we can see new ones and get the report from the app just follow the nj lottery app woks like a charm,also the app isn’t updating recent winnings numbers you might have to sign in to get them app is not updating numbers or jackpots please fix
App doesn’t update to current results

The app stays stuck on results from 2-3 days ago. I have to go to the NY Lottery online website to get current results.

Good for finding winning numbers. Requires scan to display winning $ amounts - ie can’t look up amount won for hitting Powerball +2, 3, etc. Each scan requires logging in.

So disappointed. Sorry I didn't read reviews on the scanner before I bothered with this app. NY Lottery should be ashamed of themselves.
