Reviews???

BoerneGuy

I think a lot of the reviews for this game are bogus. It seems like Apple's review system is being gamed. The controls for the laser did not work at all for me.

Could be better 

CityVillain

This game could be a lot better if it had the option to change controls to acceleromotor to a control pad like other apps such as iDracula or a pad of some sort. Until then I wouldn't suggest anyone to buy this app.

Poor reviewers can't handle the nice control method

Duffys Tavern

I think the controls are great. The bad reviews on this game come from those who just can't handle difficult games. The great thing about this game is that is not easy to master. Nice work acceleroto.

Fun

The Bat Outta Hell

Similar to nano fighter, simple yet addictive.

Not great

I bought it because other reviewers compared it to Geometry Wars. Unfortunately, it's not nearly as amazing ad GW. Anyway, bought it for a dollar and played it twice. Probably won't play again. Not paced well, limited ammo, no incentives.. Try Isotope instead.

Really Quite Good

Occurro is certainly a Geometry Wars clone and it does a good job of accomplishing this task. Occurro is given a lot of grief for its control scheme and for not quite having the same flare as Geometry Wars. The truth is that although some people find the controls "jerky" or "unresponsive," the game actually does really good job of recognizing the degree of tilt you use. It is merely a matter of fine tuning your own movements to be a bit more precise, and though some might find this off putting it adds a wonderful level of skill to the game. Additionally, the controls for the gun is rather good as well once you fine tune your abilities, my biggest complaint would be that it is a bit easy to accidentally double tap and waste a bomb. Now, as for the accusation that this is a Geometry Wars clone that does not quite cut it, the truth is, this is not Geometry Wars, and it does not have to be in order to be a great game. Though the art style is less vibrant and the enemies have less variation, the controls are fun to play around with, the progression is well paced for stop and go gaming (which is what an iPhone game should be about and at the end of the day, for $0.99, Occurro is a great value.

I could make a better game

Trucker Fresh

The game should be free roaming have a health bar enemy ships should shoot back game should have boss battles more weapon upgrades the game should have an objective not just going in circles shooting at random shapes for no reason and don't say this is too much to expect for a game there's a 1970's arcade game called Sinister that has all of these things and is 10 times better that this garbage

It's an arcade game, not an rpg!

parkermcg

This game is the best arcade shooter ever! Both the motion and touch controls feel perfect! It doesn't have upgrades, boss battles , etc, because that would take away from the pick up and play element. If you want a rpg, look for isotope. If you want to have fun anytime, buy it now before he realizes this is too cheap for this much fun!

Good start, but needs work.

I generally enjoy this game. There is a bit of a learning curve for the controls to feel natural and easy to use, but it's not a big deal. I actually rather like the controls and prefer the touch configuration. The graphics are good and aren't distracting. For a game that's apparently about avoiding contact with the enemies, though, the controls are such that it's much easier to run around shooting them than actually trying to avoid them. This is not such a big deal because the laser recharges quickly as you move (really, guys? You didn't try that?), but only being granted two hits per life before losing all your powerups really takes this out of the realm of a shmup and turns it into an avoidance game, which the controls don't suit well. There needs to be a way to recharge your shield, possibly with a powerup you can pick up or by regaining it over time, because once I'm hit the first time I start to despair because I know that I'll lose everything with the next hit. There are also a couple more small changes that could help. More powerups would make it more fun: different kinds of lasers, stronger shields, better propulsion - these would make it a little more like an RPG/shooter and really invest me in each life because of the improvements I've acquired. Also, I'd just like to know how much each kind of enemy is worth and for there to be more variety in the enemies: speedy little low-health ships, heavy turrets that shoot at you slowly, that sort of thing.

In love with this shooter

I've not seen a more engaging arcade style game on the iPhone. Love the combo of tilt and laser site. It took a while getting used to shooting opposite direction of travel but it was super fun learning it. It's a heart pounder at higher levels.
