Great app, but needs a continuous mode.

elkend

This app is well designed, but practice sessions are short and only lasts seconds until you have to restart the practice mode. Would be a 5-star app if it had a continuous mode.

Horrible, won't respond to notes at all.

??????

Hi I love your account so I don't know what you think I would do yyy a lot of but you know I don't have to

Great app for piano players

Grad student girl

This app is great for learning how to site read. It displays a note and then listens to see if you played the right note, only moving on after you get it right. You can also start with a smaller set of the clef if you are just starting out. Well worth it. Download this app. You'll be great at reading piano music in no time.

Great app! But...

Boop bee boop

Like in other reviews I wish the sessions were longer. I would rate 5 stars if this was updated.

Great app for all, indispensable for nonstandards

If you play transposed and/or play a non-chromatic instrument or an instrument with limited note range, you will not find a more powerful tool for learning to sight read. I hear that piano teachers love this as well, but for me it's indispensable. I am learning to play the Bulgarian kaval. I play transposed 1 octave on my C kaval, and transposed 1 octave+1 on my D. For that reason, most apps that use the microphone to detect what note you play in response to the prompt on the screen don't work for me. This app calibrates to your middle C at the beginning of each round, and it doesn't mind at all if my middle C is really a high D. I had a problem with this app at first because you have to choose from a small selection of levels to play, each with a different range of notes. Unfortunately, none of those levels very well matched the range of notes the kaval can play. However, Note Rush is now beta testing an update that allows you to custom create your own levels. I'm one of the beta testers, and it's wonderful! I have now created levels for all the naturals in the kaval's range, all the sharps, all the flats, all the accidental, and finally all of the notes on the kaval. With this update, I've been learning faster than ever before, and there's nothing else out there that will do this that I have found. Plus I really like the low pressure format. In Note Rush, the note prompt stays on the screen until you get it right. In many other apps, the notes speed up and when you can't keep up, you lose. I'm a low stress kind of person, and I definitely prefer Note Rush for that. Note Rush does track your best time on each level, and rewards you for improving, but there's no losing; you're always at your own pace. The developers have been extremely responsive to users' suggestions for improvements, and they have built a near perfect app. Get it. You won't be disappointed (even if your instrument is in concert pitch, chromatic, and has a large range ?).

pretty good

Leftycombo

So far I've only used my electric keyboard to calibrate. Does well with that, but I haven't tried it on a regular piano. Quizzes sometimes a bit too fast, but maybe I can change that in "settings ". Overall, nice for the price, note reading app.

So much better than flash cards

candclin

My son loves using his app and his note reading has improved tremendously since starting. I'm thankful he can do this on his own and it keeps track of his high scores which is highly motivating for him.

Customizable note reviews

musicalmybus

Now that I can customize the notes to hone in on exactly what needs work this app is officially 5 star status! Thank you!

Let me change my mind

??try it??

Sometimes when I play a note, (for example, G) it doesn't move to the next one and it's frustrating because it's the correct note

Great for Music Teachers and Students!

This game goes above and beyond any other flash card type game out there. Some apps have tried to come close to this level of awesomeness but have seriously fallen short. My students love this game and ask to play it weekly. You NEED it if you’re a music teacher or if you’re a student wanting to work on your note reading skills!
