It frustrates me that the VPN consistently connects to a server in Canada. I live in the United States. Why is this happening??

Day 2 and have noticed that since downloading this that my Wi-Fi constantly drops, and have noticed that’s some of apps that although I can open it, the app isn’t responsive. When I turn off the VPN the apps then become responsive. Figured maybe it was a coincidence but when I turned it on, I only have the issue and it’s doesn’t happen any other time. Ex, my Kik app, the messages takes at least 5 mins to send. The app I use for work to clock in, none of the features work when I tap on them but like I said, when I turn off the VPN things to back to normal. I don’t know why that is but I since then stopped using it and have uninstalled this app
