Works for me

davebarnes42

I only use plain text, no markdown. I was using the PlainText app to sync shopping list text files on 6 devices in our household. With the disaster that is PlainText 2.1, I have switched over to Nocs.

I like it a lot

I think this is a great start for a markdown product. I would like to see the ability to move entire folders and to copy instead of just move but I am sure those capabilities are on the drawing board. Keep up the good work.

Best Writing App I've Ever Used!

Here's what I'm looking for in a writing app: - Bare-bones basic text editing (Markdown is fine) - Dropbox syncing *with my existing Dropbox file structure* - Ability to edit files on both iPad and iPhone - Ability to edit files safely even when my mobile device is offline (even if I have to explicitly specify what I want to have access to offline first) - Absolutely minimal UI: gets out of the way and lets me write - Responsive support from developers Nice to haves: - Gives me access to Dropbox revision history and lets me roll back to earlier versions - If Markdown must be used, a Markdown processor that produces rich text (e.g., HTML)) - Built-in dictionary support There are things that could be improved, of course (like providing a text-search feature and rich-text editing), but Nocs is the first text editor I've used that gives me all these things! Thank you!

The best!

After looking for a basic, minimal text app like Plain Text but no "iOS 7 white" design, I found this. It doesn't have bold or italics but it's perfect for me. I also like its theme, customizable colors and how it feels like a word processing app and not some app with a pretty design. Don't change this app's UI! It's perfectly fine. I also love it's Dropbox capabilities and custom fonts so it feels like a word processor. Formatting wise, the only thing I truly want is .doc capabilities and the ability to change font size when editing a .doc (like a word processor, because I write chapbooks). I agree with Kiddu's feature suggestions. Word count in preview and edit mode will be nice, and the ability to copy text in preview mode will make copying text easier. I keep forgetting it's not the Notes app and that I have to press 'edit' to copy text. Also, linking to Dropbox via settings will also be a plus. Other than that, this is a good app.

One feature missing

DanielPHenry

Is it possible to add an auto update feature? I have a text file that I keep in the dropbox as a To Do file but to update it I have to back out of the dropbox and then re-click on it for it to update. basically I have to manually refresh it every time Plaintext app has this auto update feature

Excellent Markdown Editor

Simple and intuitive. The only thing missing is a tab key, which would make it much easier to keep lists.

Careful when editing

RFS1000

Opened a txt file from Dropbox, clicked edit and lost my original file. Not good

Does what I want, needs UI update

mros365

I am a student and take all of my notes in markdown on my laptop and found this app primarily to view my notes (and sometimes edit). It is fast and syncs well with Dropbox and plays well with my CSS styles, so I won't complain. Only thing is that it could use an ios7 update to freshen up the UI

Crash

Crashes ALL THE TIME

Great for editing Dropbox text files

But PDF viewing is slow and crashes.
