This is the 2nd game I've bought from Big Fish. I've tried a few demos as well. It's the exact same formula nearly every time. Mostly simple puzzles that string together a story; find the various objects in a scene; little explanation; little creativity in the gameplay. The artwork is fantastic, but I wish they would improve the gameplay. It feels like an insult to the artwork. Classics like Deja Vu and Myst really make you think. Machinarium is a great example of how to do an adventure puzzle game for the iOS environment. I bought the iPhone version, saved myself 3 bucks, and played it on the iPad. And when it ended way too soon, like most of their games, I didn't feel so cheated.

This game is a pinnacle of Big Fish games. Hardly any game on any platform so masterfully combines artistic voice, comics style detective-mystery story, puzzles, and hidden objects as does this Nick Chase game. The voice immerses into the game and transports you in time. I think this is the most underrated game in App Store. Unfortunately, no other Big Fish game replicates the experience of Nick Chase. A true and precious gem that withstands the test of time.

Mine keeps closing after I try to press continue on the "Golden Cats" scene. Where he says he's going to the copy place where no questions are asked. Is this only happening to me? It did it on the lite version too. Anyways, it seems fun but don't know if it's really worth 1.99, maybe .99 would be better.

I got this game way back in the day when it was 5 bucks. Totally not worth it and I'm not sure if it's worth $2 because it is extremely short. It's got fun puzzles but the whole game is over in an hour or two. It's no fun to play more than once so it's up to you to decide whether an hour's entertainment is worth the $2. Oh and it also crashed pretty often

Kept closing on me @ the lock behind the dresser in the hotel room, mini games weren't that fun either & when I needed hints they weren't available. Don't pay full price but when on sale for $1-2 then go for it!

Next to LA Noir this is the best detective game ever. The levels were challenging, never glitched, liked the comic book idea!??????

I really have to say I like this one! It totally has a different style and feel to it then all the rest from BF. So I'm seriously considering upgrading.

That's it, a bunch of crappy puzzles!?! I want a refund for this garbage

The game is ok, mostly hidden object type. However, mine gets to the part where you watch a cut scene about "the Empire Hotel" and then it shuts down. Over and over. Total rip off. Don't waste your time.
