Located in Minneapolis MN, Nice Ride is the nation's largest bike sharing program. Now with 'Nice Ride MN - Map and Timer', you can check the status of the 65 bike kiosks on the go and time your rides to avoid ever paying a trip fee!
The 'Map' tab shows you the real time status of all 65 stations and your current location. Use it to find the closest bike or dock to your location.
The 'Other' tab contains a timer and alarm settings. When you start the timer, the app will count down from 30 minutes and alert you when the specified number of minutes remain. Use it to give yourself a reminder to return your bike before you get charged trip fees!

This is a standard Google Maps app that marks the locations of Nice Ride MN stations around you. It works. They added a slick timer to let you know how much longer you have - though you have to add time and start the countdown. The app is super handy if you are exploring areas on the Nice Ride bikes. It's free. Stop reading this. To the dev team: it'd be really cool if you could tie into the GPS API for ride tracking. It'd be sweet for it to track distance and time. A user could review how frequently they use the service and how far they travel. Based on that data, it could also alert people that they use the service enough to become a monthly member!
Simple but gets the job done. Couple thing you could add is report a problem with a bike or station and request a new station option.
Great service, solid app. Could ask for a few additional features, but it serves its purpose.
The app works well, showing where bike racks are nearby and how many bikes and empty slots are available. However the only location service options are none and always. If I don't have an app up and running in the foreground I don't want to share that data.
This app was great 3 years ago, but it's not optimized for newer iPhones and is sluggish. Is anyone even really up on this? The nice ride website doesn't even promote this app, they tell you to download another.
This app is aggressively terrible. I've seen better apps come from high school projects. Use Spotcycle, it's about 10,000 times better. 1) Location access cannot be set to only while the app is in use. This is a deal breaker right there. 2) App doesn't scale properly on iPhone 6s Plus. This is basic stuff people! 3) "Oh great a timer, that is so handy because my phone doesn't already have that feature," said no one ever. 4) At least the app developer's logo is prominently displayed so that in the future I can avoid them like the plague.
