Like its predecessor, the Jerusalem Bible, the New Jerusalem Bible (NJB) version is translated "directly from the Hebrew, Greek or Aramaic." The 1973 French translation, the Bible de Jerusalem, is followed only "where the text admits to more than one interpretation." Introductions and notes, with some modifications, are taken from the Bible de Jerusalem.

Reviews

One thing
Saw the Word

Other Bible apps allow you to highlight or make notes to favorite passages. That would be a nice feature along with daily verses with while chapter reading being an option. That is one thing that helps me be more faithful about reading daily. I know of another app that lists Plans for reading about specific topics. That may be another enhancement option.

Beautiful work; however I would like to be able to continue reading without having to be interrupted to go back out to select the next or previous chapter. ?Please make it so we can scroll back & forth within each book of the Bible. Thank you ☺️ ??

Not perfect but free!

This app has been a great help to me, it makes it easy for me to find scripture passages and increase my interest in reading and praying with scripture. I am very grateful for making this available and simple to use

Voiceover
@Samanthaisabelfit

I have only listened to the book of Tobit on this app because it wasn’t available on the Bible app. The voiceover was a let down because it seemed to be a robot or a computer generated voice. I’m sure people would be happy to give their time by reading for the app. I would love it. Other than that it has all of the books and is a great tool to read.

Great app

Just wish it was easier to switch between chapters. More like pages of a book.
