Can’t sign in using password manager

theorygeek

I use a password manager to generate long, randomized passwords for all of my logins. For some reason, the Orbi app uses a specialized password input field that isn’t compatible with iOS’s password management features. So, I have to manually copy/paste my password every time I want to open the app. It’s really annoying, and I’ll probably stop using it soon.

Not sure I will keep this.

The setup was pretty easy but I actually think the Deco setup was easier. I can’t do everything I want through the app like setting a reserved IP address for a specific device on the network. Strange thing is my iPhone keeps losing WiFi, don’t know why. So I have to turn off WiFi then back on and it works again. I have not had this problem with any other router. I have an exobee thermostat that will connect to my network but not to ecobee’s network. I think this is an issue we ecobee that’s why I wanted to try assigning a reserved IP. Others I’m sure love this router, me not so much. Will keep testing it and see if my feelings change.

Gives Apple devices generic Apple names

Kinda annoying to figure out who’s iPhone and iPad are who’s on the network. This seems to be easily avoidable.

Very disappointing.

I just purchased a newer Orby to replace my older one. The set up process was extremely frustrating even following the directions on the app. It took several attempts to get it running. It didn’t recognize the unit for a long time. Now the speed is ridiculously slow. Mentioning use correction using the Orbi app to test download speeds I am getting about 10 MBPS terrible.

Nothing but problems with streaming services since I installed it.

I wish I never upgraded. Install instructions said to use the same name and password as the old network and everything would automatically join. That only happened with my registered phone. We manually had to enter in a dozen family devices and the 2016 Samsung tv never worked. An hour on with support, apparently the “vulnerability scan” finally finished on the tv, and then that worked for a few minutes only to have all of the streaming sites then prevent access again. After which, no devices worked except the original phone. I’m re- installing my prior router.

Speed

My Orbi continuously needs reset and we lose connection constantly. Will never recommend at this rate.

I replaced my AMPLIFI HD system with this Orbi WiFi 6 system. The difference is absolutely insane with my fiber optic service. Took a few tries to get the system up and running (you have to stay close to the router to set it up), but once I got it up and running it was smooth sailing. The app is great and works well. Not a single complaint.

Orbi system not working properly

No devices will connect to my second satellite - of course making everything on that side of the house have a weak signal. I cannot set devices to certain satellites.

YOU SHOULDNOT BE WITHOUT THIS

I have a 4000 square-foot house. I had a Netgear nighthawk 7000 in the north west corner of the basement in my office. I could not get Internet service in my garage. I know that I overbought with this particular product, but that’s just what I do. I wanted the biggest, baddest, strongest signal I could get. I installed the Orbi, in 15 minutes, as simple as can be. Now, every nook and cranny of my house is now awash with lightning fast 140 Mb upload and 450 Mb download. It’s worth every penny.

Drops constantly no matter what we do. Unless you are a network tech expert stay away from these. Not user friendly at all even with a moderate understanding of technology. I have WiFi even though it says the orbi is offline. I think I would get more enjoyment running over it with my lawnmower rather than using it for internet. Do yourself a favor, take $300 and light it on fire or donate it to a charity before buying one of these. You will thank me.
