Forced to watch porno ads

This app used to be great with the news and only the news. But now it pops up commercials between every story and many of them are pornographic to the point I wouldn’t want kids to accidentally see it. And you can’t stop it until the end short of restarting the app, then you’re forced to watch it again. I hope an update improves it and screens the ads better. Kid’s addition doesn’t go well after some of those porno ads. Real disappointment!

If you like your news divided by race and sexual orientation, this is the app for you. Personally, i just want the recent headlines that are important to EVERYONE. I don't understand why they are trying to make the news so divisive in this way. It seems very biased in this format. Try Google news for a less biased and divisive approach to current events.

Unless you change your settings to accept it’s notifications. Personally, I like to read my news like I used to read the newspaper. I DO NOT want the app to “Notify” me about anything! Sadly, that makes it impossible for me to use the App. No Rachel Maddow, no Nicole Wallace. Bummer. I have no idea what they were thinking when they made that change! That’s ok, I deleted their messed-up App and I have a half-dozen other sources of news. I hope lots of other folks are as outraged as I am, and NBC re-thinks their outlandish policy on notifications!
Latest update breaks the app

Used to love this app and would use it regularly for news across the nation. The latest update forces you to turn on location services or to enter a zip code. Why? Why do I need to allow you to harvest data about me when I just want to read the National news? And even if I wanted to provide a zip code, which I tried to do, the app marks the zip code as invalid. Not according to the US Postal Service! This is now officially a 1-star app.

The app as of today demands notification services to be on for breaking news AND location services set to use. So. Good bye NBC News app. You won’t force me. Your news ain’t worth deleting my privacy. Adios.
