Worth the $

Thatangler

I use this app for ice fishing. I find that sometimes the contours and depths are spot on, and other times it completely misses, even within the same lake. I do find that if I find a good fishing spot, and I place a marker in the app, I can get right back to that spot in the future. I have the app for iPhone and my friend has it on droid, and I can zoom in more than him, so it seems to have an advantage on the iPhone.

Trial version not helping

Dennis Grandinetti

I downloaded the trial version as suggested by Navionics. Well the trial version seems to hang up or freeze. So if they expect me to buy the paid version this app is not helpful and working for me to buy. I suggest they fix it. So I must say at this point don't spend your hard earned money.

Crashes. All. The. Time. Can't. Use.

This app used to work fine. Current version on up to date iOS crashes on start up.

Poor Resolution compared to HD

IslandDogPNW

Nice try, but requiring 2 licenses (1 for iPad HD) and another full price for iPhone standard resolution is simply not cool. So if you want on more than 1 device, (iPhone and iPad), AND only want to pay 1 license you'll need to get the STANDARD version. The HD version is MUCH BETTER. BUT your purchase will not work for iPhone. If you Purchase the standard for the iPhone, and use it on your HD iPad(s), you can use it but you'll regret it becuase the resolution is so poor. Only solution is getting 2 licenses. And thats why I give this app 1 star.

Update

Mr1325

I updated the app and now it takes time to open then when it does it almost immediately shuts down. HELP

Share is a myth. Very limted and cumbersome.

IslandDogPNW

For the price of this app, the claims should not be lip service. Just confirmed that the Sharing Feature, to share your Markers, Tracks or Routes is VERY Limited to yourself. Sharing via email or messenger or txt can certainly be done. BUT what you share or others who also are in the Navionics eco system CANNOT be imported to your app for your use. Only option is to manually enter market lat/long. Considering that this could and should be SOP, I've lowered my rating. Share is very limited and is simply not working as it should. Sadly, by design of Navionics Dev team.

Good, but could be better

Jorgan Morgan

The maps that I chose don't show the the proper canals, and markers, this doesn't affect me very much because I know my area, but for beginners, it may screw them up. I know there is a thing that said not to completely rely on the app, but considering the technology we have you should they should get the charts right.

Tracking location in background

DouglasJayK

This app is actually very useful and offers a comprehensive feature set. However, this app uses your GPS location data while in the background and does not allow this to be turned off in iOS settings, which makes it not only dangerous to your privacy but contributes to battery consumption. This occurs even if you force close the app. Please consider letting users set location usage to "while using" instead of forcing users to "Always" or "Never" options.
