I sometimes wouldn't test because I didn't have time to log and knew I'd forget later. The importer solves this problem, allowing me to enter multiple readings at a time. Little tricky if it's dark or there's glare, but that's my only complaint. Using the Freestyle Lite meter.

It looks as simple and easy as the directions say it does. Point the phone at the meter, and it imports your results. But it has a ridiculously now number of supported meters. I tried all the settings on my (unsupported) meter, and on every one, it correctly identified where the numbers were, but then refused to recognize them and import them. I have no idea how it’s written, but if it can get as far as recognizing the LCD numbers, why not be able to import them, or at least flash a screen for me to approve its best guess. If they add more meters (mine’s the standard one from the VA, so I have to believe it’s common) then I’d fully support it.

App did not have my exact meter, but display is same. Still, it could not recognize the screen. Not like other scanners that "figure out" what camera sees. May work with one of the listed meters.

Update 5/25 - updated this app, yet again - still won't sync with my pro log. Get it together, MySugr! This new scanner is awful! I miss the cute and effective old one! This one is useless! Original: I love this app and paid for the pro version of my sugar, but this new Scanner update is practically unusable. It miss read the meter constantly, and now it won't sync with my logbook for several days. I'm very frustrated.

It doesn't work with my Nipro TRUEresult / HEB inControl. How hard is it to OCR 1/2 in high LCD numbers?

Useless. Spent 20 minutes trying to get the app to scan my meter. It kept telling me to make sure there was no reflection on the meter window. There wasn't. Try in a well lite room, until indoor light, and activated the flash. No luck. If it won't scan, you can't use it.

I messed with this app for some time. Two highly irritating things happened: First there was a banner that covered the screen. It had a partial sentence on the banner. When I tried to select it, the banner would immediately go away then come back on again. I couldn’t read the banner so just started pressing everything I could and eventually set the program up. Secondly, it flat wouldn’t scan and another banner came on so I couldn’t see to focus. I selected the banner and it immediately disappeard and came back again so I still couldn’t see to focus. Different lighting conditions changed nothing. I was about to throw my phone then realized it wasn’t the phone's fault, it was the crappy app. I immediately uninstalled the app as well as mysugr logbook and am using a different logbook program and will simply enter the numbers from the tester.

What a waste of time. After spending 15-20 mins trying to scan it kept telling me to get better light with no reflections. This is useless!
