Doesn’t support shortcuts in iOS

echistas

If this app supported shortcuts in iOS, would be much better. Decided against buying these for now. Will purchase in the future of shortcut features are released

Everything functions like it should

Nykev Design

Been happy with everything. The app, the product, the features.

Suddenly a complete failure

Annoyingrandomname25447

Logo screen for 10-15 seconds, then the app crashes. Can’t do anything with it.

Does not pair blinds

Moootz

The setup stated that blinds have been found but never adds them. Super frustrating

Cash Grab

Mattson543

Another miserable cash grab. Any software developer who may have worked on this app or for this company is long gone. This technology was brought to a somewhat usable product and then entirely abandoned. Now it just sits to collect money from those who don’t know any better. What a disgusting practice. The entirely absent or convoluted integration with anything else (like Alexa, IFTTT, etc) is absolutely pathetic. With so many steps to actually make this work, the product can’t possibly be for any older folks to use. With garbage software and no integrations/API, it’s also not for smart home enthusiasts. Which leaves me wondering who this dumpster fire is for. With nobody developing this, I know nobody will read this review, but I just wanted to express my grief into the void over this heartless scam. This could be so cool.

Pretty darn good for the price

I have five of the conversion “kits” from MySmartBlinds... on both old and new 2-inch blinds... running for a couple of years now. Taking out the original manual tilt-mechanisms, and replacing with the MSB kits, was easy (minutes). Similarly, getting them connected to the app and scheduling them to do what I wanted was also easy. Five stars for installation and app-setup. I’ll ding them for one star, however, for a minor annoyance they’ve exhibited since day-one: While running on battery power, when the battery indicator gets to about 50%, they start behaving a little squirrelly. Once every couple of days, they randomly open or close for no reason, or fail to open/close when they’re scheduled to. Over the years, I have asked the company about this... and they’ve made some suggestions for resetting the schedules, they’ve sent me a new battery, etc... bandaids... but none have been a “fix”. I’m writing this because one of them *just* closed, mid-morning, on its own. When this starts happening... roughly every two months... I just charge them all up, and the behavior stabilizes. But it’s annoying that the battery indicators all tell me they have plenty of charge remaining, when they start losing their minds. For the price - terrific. But this long-standing annoyance is disappointing.

Excellent product

I have been waiting for this product to be released for a while and it does not disappoint. It is very easy to install and works flawlessly. My blinds open at sunrise and close at sunset with the sun tracking feature. This offers great convenience and is a nice addition to my home automation ecosystem. (I just bought another kit and will be buying more). The app is well designed and paired with my blinds quickly and without issue.

Great product! One feature request...

This is a great product and easy to install. I use it every weekday morning to help wake me up. Very nice! One request, it always takes a while to close the blinds when I use the local control (cord). Is there a way to set what the local control does? Example - Single pull - opens blinds to position set in the app Double pull - closes the blinds Hold still allows for exact position control This would be very helpful when I just want to quickly close the blinds and don't want to get the iPhone app out. Thanks!

Great Product

I've installed five of the automation kits and setup was straightforward for all but one. For the last, the app would crash when attempting a firmware update, but turning the phone off and then on fixed any issues. They've since been running on a daily schedule following sunrise and sunset without issue and I haven't had to think about them. The app is pretty good for manually controlling them, but the scheduling negates the need to open it up at all.

Junk, right out of the box

hikerbuddy

I installed the motor and battery pack in my blinds and everything fit nice and snug, but the app doesn't control the blinds at all. I can make the app identify the blinds perfectly fine, but the actual blind control via the app doesn't even work! $100 wasted. Will be returning.
