Could be 5 star but crashes often

GiantBud

This could be a great game everything is there just crashes so often almost makes it unplayable

Pay to Win

Sntball

This game is really fun, the mechanics and strategy are great buuuuttttt, you have to spend a lot on micro transactions to advance. This is particularly annoying because there is a decent up front cost for the game too, it should be more competitive without paying to advance if you pay for the initial game. I hardly ever write reviews but this warranted a word of caution. Buyer beware.

Poor remake of the first version

The niha

The original mushroom wars was an awesome game! It was straight strategy instead of the Is Morale nonsense. Please bring back the awesome and uncomplicated first erosion.

Good game but......

Zygosa

This is a fun game to play but they make you pay for the campaigns and then once again pay for all the multiplayer things so you have to pay for the game itself then are coaxed to pay for upgrades in multiplayer and packs and some bs energy system that should be unlimited when you buy the full game itself it’s actually a rip off!

Really liked this game. Especially the community is what made this so much more fun. But due to constant events and upgrades, you need to spend your real money on, this has become just frustrating and sad. It’s no longer the skill that matters, only how much money you put in. The Winter event, supposed to be fun, was hidden behind different paywalls. From $20,- to over $100 for the exact same product. And even then you need to spend more to be able to play....pay more, get more - or get left behind. What upsets me most is that great players stop playing due to all of that. Players that support the game, make it fun and help out. I truly hope there will be a change, or more will be leaving.

One year later

Qwerty333-

About one year ago I praised this game for its unique mechanics, supportive community, and ability for the player to improve. In one year, Zillion Whales has overcomercialized this game by adding the rune, ticket, and item systems that all rely heavily on in-app purchases to get ahead of your opponents. Instead of a being game dedicated to its player base, Zillion Whales has ignored our many voices and taken the game away from what it once was. Many of the top players have struggled with this change from skill to money as many of them have quit or turned to casual play. As the company focuses more and more on money, less time is spent to maintain the social aspect, which is often the last tether for someone about to quit, and the game’s fundamentals have been drastically changed by various upgrades and runes. If Zillion Whales is to keep falling to greed, then they will lose the most unique aspect of the game: the wildly dedicated players who grind out not only to improve their skills, but also to support the mushroom wars community and the various events. In one year I have seen so many people leave and struggle with Zillion Whales (as is my experience). At this rate, mushroom wars is becoming an example of an institution falling to its own selfishness and rejecting the humanity of its clients. We cannot wait another year. If this has been your experience, please leave a review and close up your wallet. That is the only way Zillion Whales will listen.

You Almost Had Me... uninstalled

BellallungBlade

Your multiplayer is truly atrocious, and you force players to spend all their time there if they don’t want to spend money. Based on all the 1 Star reviews that address this very issue, I won’t get far in this game, so I just uninstalled. Players can read my initial reactions below: I found Mushroom Wars 2 and thought I found a game I could really invest some time and resources into... then I got into your multiplayer mode (which you’re FORCED to do if you want to continue with the campaign). Campaign was fun and appropriately challenging, and I’d play that all day... you can chose from 4 levels of difficulty and upgrade your hero’s skills (which gets pretty pricey past your first upgrade), and there are rewards for the stars you accumulate. After a handful of campaign levels, the game prohibits further progress, unless you want to buy the full campaign module (there are about four different modules you can purchase). Here’s where it gets dicey... the multiplayer pairing algorithms are horrible. You get paired with players far more advanced in the game than yourself, and the variety of MP game modes is staggering, leaving you oblivious to what strategy you should apply in 1v1, 1v2 or 1v3... as you have no clue which mode will be engaged until you’re in the game. I simply choose “surrender” rather than waste time fighting with people multiple levels above me, or people who are obviously more aware of the mode strategies than I am, at this point. Ultimately, the game feels designed to push you to “pay to play.” They want your money. Ads aren’t enough income, apparently... which is hard to believe because ads are everywhere, UNLESS you want to “pay to play” without them. I liked the game... so you almost had me.

Could be better

CLAIRE J!

I don’t mean to be rude but like the game is SO frustrating and like it’s really laggy on my iPad I don’t know why but maybe it’s because I have so many games. The game is a great game though. I love it thanks for putting so much detail and hard work into it.

Mushroom Wars 2

I understand to a point that you want people to pay for the campaign but on the other hand do you know how many people you drive away with that? I thoroughly enjoyed this game up until I saw you wanted me to pay for “episodes”. I know developing the game isn’t cheap or free. I understand completely that you need some way of pulling in extra money to pay for labor to push out bigger and better updates but from what I’ve experienced and read this game is the biggest pay to win I’ve seen in awhile. You get a bunch of downloads on a daily and then your customers or fans have to pay to play the rest of the game and I didn’t see anywhere in the description stating any of this and not to mention you have to pay for tickets and runes and better Troops? If you are going to make a game that feeds off of the consumers pocket at least make the game free so that you can keep your “fan base” and let people enjoy a single player game that’s actually a lot of fun. Overall mushroom wars 2 is a fun game up to having to pay to finish the campaign. Anything after that isn’t worth it, id rather spend my time finding a game that lets me play through the campaign for free than have to pull out my wallet to get some enjoyment. Granted I know you won’t reply to this because why would you and if you do I won’t be emailing you because I’m uninstalling this sad excuse for a money grab.

Don’t pay, don’t play

I really enjoyed this game both the story, even paid for the extended story version, as well as the online version. However it seems the entire game has become more about unique items and heroes you can buy than an intense strategy game. These “amazing” heroes and items put other opponents so far above you you have to buy the same heroes and items to compete. I don’t really see the fun in that. No longer about strategy just wealth.
