Great app, wonderful museum
No Stinkin' Sync
This is my favorite museum in a city with a wealth of attractions. It gives the visitor a close look at many of the statues and carvings that originally graced the Duomo along with a model of the dome. Plus, you can view a Pieta by Michelangelo and much more, and this app helps you better appreciate the many items seen in the recently renovated and improved museum. Visit the museum, and enjoy it even more with this app in hand on your phone.
Won't stay in English

I downloaded the app at our hotel and tested it, and it all seemed to work fine. But upon arrival at the museum, all the art descriptions switched to Italian, and there was no way to change a setting to change it back to English. Then when I arrived back at the hotel, it switched itself back to English. What kind of app decides what language you can see on its own? Very odd. It didn't seem to be based on location services, so presumably you need wifi or data for it to be in English?

I recently used this app at the duomo museum (just behind the duomo in Florence) & it worked great. They have free WiFi in the building so you can even download the app when u get there. If you turn on your Bluetooth & activate live feed on the app it will even tell you where you are in the exhibits & what works of art are around you. If you click on the works of art it will tell you lots of extra info, something that you might find out if you hired a private guide. I loved it! One suggestion though... I wish it had audio info instead of (or in addition to) written commentary because then I could have gazed at the beautiful art while I listened to it, instead of staring at my phone while I read the info & then getting a chance to look up to appreciate the art. After a few hours I did get a little tired of reading, but that’s pretty common for those of us who love to get as much info as possible in our museum visits, lol! The app worked perfectly for me today. Thank you for a free, well planned accompaniment to your wonderful museum.
