Love my Muse!

This is exactly what I’ve been waiting for! I love having Alexa in the car. Even better than in the home. Great job!

Useless

WARNING: This hijacks your iPhones audio system and makes it so you can’t play any music via Spotify or ITunes while Muse is connected. This is a fatal flaw and it should have never been released in this condition, nor was any warning given.

A Streaming System With Alexa, NOT An Alexa Device that Supports Streaming
Bobby T.

If you are looking for a device to stream audio through Alexa to your car stereo, this device works fine (Data Usage Not Withstanding). If you were hoping for Alexa access but want to listen to music using other apps on your phone, this device will NOT work for you. Running ANY other audio app on your phone will disable Muse completely. The “cost” of Muse over an Echo Dot: 1. Overages - Spending over 3 hours per day on the road, I have already learned (the hard way) that streaming all of my audio will consume over 40 GB of data per month, more than double my current plan. It's also worth noting that though Muse is designed to be a mobile app, Alexa and it's services are NOT. Since Alexa is designed to be a service leveraged though a hard wired home based broadband connection, limiting data consumption isn't a primary concern for Alexa app developers. 2. Loss of Music - I have thousands of tracks on my phone assembled over the course of many years. There is no music service though Alexa that comes anywhere close to having my complete library. As far as Muse is concerned, the tracks stored locally on my phone may as well be on the moon. 3. Paid Subscriptions - I currently don't pay for any music subscriptions compatible with Alexa, which means I'd have to sign up for a paid service to be able to listen to music... 4. Loss of Car Integration - My car stereo is able to display what tracks are playing & show the album cover on my stereo's screen. It also allows me to browse my music and select playlists. With Muse, all I can see is the Muse app name as well as it's logo. If I click the button on my car stereo to browse my music & select an artist or playlist, Muse ceases working all together. 5. Loss of Phone Paring - Ironically enough, using an Echo Dot in my car does actually allow me to connect to my phone and play music though my car stereo, if I so desired. In this way Muse actually has less compatibility with my phone an Echo Dot. 6. Loss of "Drop In" Capability - Though this isn't the fault of the developer (its a limitation put in place by Amazon), Muse is not compatible with the "Drop In" feature (which allows an instant speaker phone like connection to my other Echo devices app home). My hope was this device would work better than using an Echo Dot in my car, but that definitely was not the case. The biggest annoyance with the Dot is that I need to manually enable the hotspot on my phone for the Dot to connect after starting my car. However when taking into account the cost for a Music subscription as well as data overages, I'd save a fortune paying for a mobile hotspot solely for a Dot.

Great Product

Device connects automatically. I don’t need to pay for SiriusXM anymore. I love it!

Great concept...

The idea is great - I get in my car, bark a command to alexa, and I’m magically listening to my favorite audio book. In practice, I get in the car, grab my phone, start the muse app, bark at alexa 5 or 6 times, the audio book finally starts, then about ten minutes later it stops playing inexplicably and won’t restart until I restart the muse app and bark some more at it.

LOVE THIS DEVICE!!

After downloading the Muse app, plugged it into my car and I was talking to Alexa in under a minute. Now it’s finding my audiobooks, playing any type of music that comes to mind, traffic...all hands free. It’s very cool.

Product is awesome, only issue is you must open the app, keep it open and have car connected to phone Bluetooth.

Great concept. But doesn’t work.
Allen Flupper

I got it today and after setting it up I went out driving. It rarely hears me. I have it in a good spot. If I close the app it doesn’t work. It needs to be open in the background. Sometimes Alexa never stops listening after I ask it something, then when it does stop I don’t get an answer. I was really excited for this but it fell short. Hoping it’s a software bug?

Inconsistent and frustrating

Great idea but poor implementation. Bluetooth pairing requires 5 minutes of playing around every time you get in the car. USB direct connect never works. Save yourself the $40 and look at other options.

Doesn’t work with Ford/Lincoln SYNC
Dadmin1

Received my muse audio device in late December. Tried it in both 2017 Lincoln Navigator and 2016 Ford Expedition and it doesn’t work. It may not be compatible with the Ford/Lincoln SYNC software. I was able to get it set up in both cars, but after the audio set up and test (audio test worked fine) it disconnects on first use and audio only comes out through the phone. I pull it out of the glove compartment and try using it again every time there is an update, but it still won’t work on the Ford/Lincoln cars.
