Great app

Bill23138

Forget all these cry babys this is the best app I've downloaded yet and it makes me wanna eat my daily goal of proteins this is the best 3 dollars I've ever spent I would buy this app if it cost 20 dollars

Missing a couple really imortant features

XcexiV

It's nice and easy to use, I like the UI but I think it would be a much better app if it also tracked carb amounts and listed your protein/fat/carb ratio. Eating protein isn't the the only facet of gaining quality weight or burning fat. Could potentially be a great app but as of now it's fairly limited.

Database not great.

This company's other apps have significantly larger databases than Muscle Gain. Seems like an easy fix since they already have the information. App would be worth the money if everything I looked up were there. Even common products were missing; No Musclemilk entry but slim fast is included? Must be a joke. Stay away till they can support their app.

Not bad but needs improvements!

Please add carbs to the tracking system and expand the food database. You should also add the ability to modify the macronutrients ratios.

Similar to lose it but....

Similar to "lose it" (which is a weight loss application... THE BEST ONE). So for this to resemble that app is high praise. But this form of calorie counter needs to be able to calculate how many calories you've burned and not just log what you've eaten otherwise you're starving yourself and not gaining anything. So... This desperately needs to be updated. I refuse to use this application not to put a remotely positive star rating on this application until they add a button that says "log exercise" and you have a long list of exercises you can select from you can input how long you've done the exercise and it will automatically calculate the average metabolisms rate of calorie burn for that physical activity. For that matter, why not go a step or two above calorie counter and allow us to log other things like how long we've slept, sat, or stood. Though these aren't extreme physical activities you are always burning calories and personally I want my calorie counter to be as exact as possible. I also like the visual representation of barbs eaten as presented in "lose it" where as this application just shows a percentage rate for how much protein you need to consume for the day. And I like the protein percentage meter I just want a calorie counter as well. Furthermore I want an expansive library of foods. I also want to be able to add my own foods into the system an input the nutritional facts into it. Again, until these needs are satisfied, this application is sub par and I refuse to use it.

Poorly prepared app.

This app has severe limitations. The concept is good and it does have potential. This version should be free and then charge for the updated version when they get all the kinks out. To begin with the food database is limited. The nutrient content for some food items are incorrect. You cannot edit the food items you select to consume. It would be good to know the cholesterol level on a daily basis and even sugar, general nutritional stuff for a good and healthy body builder. I could go on and on. Short cut and unfinished work will always get u bad reviews.

needs a edit button

Riley keele

after i enter what i ate and if i did it incorreclty or on the wrong day you CAN'T go back and delete it!!!!!!!!! WTF!!!!!!!!! only way it to delete the whole log??????? NEEDS a EDIT BUTTON

Keeps great tab of protein intake

Seedster

Not as bad as most reviews say, specially since this is the only app that tracks the protein needs of a body builder. It keeps things simple enough for you to keep coming back every day to track your intake. It has a great GUI and it's Database is good enough. I usually add in my own supplements and meals anyways. Thank you for developing this nice app!!

Near perfect!!!

foxwalk

This is an amazing app! Only complaint is the food db is a bit inaccurate i think stuff like eggs, turkey bacon etc should be counted in servings, not weight. Only thing i would add is ability to remove foods eaten(for those like me who add what they're going to eat when they have time), so you can remove if you change your mind. If it had that it'd be perfect.

What would make this a 5 star app for me........

I am on the fence as to what to rate this app. I could have given it a 3 but will give the developer the benefit of the doubt and rate a 4. Muscle gainer is good at tracking your daily calorie, protein and fat intake but lacks an easy way to monitor carbohydrates. I often find myself meeting or exceeding my protein and fat intake but fall short in calories so I know I need more carbs, by how much I don’t know. I could calculate it but the app should do that for me just like it does protein and fat. Here is a list of must haves. 1. The overview screen needs to show a category for carbs just like it does for protein and fat. 2. The “select period” menu only has choices for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack and other. It would be great to have additional selections such as AM snack, PM snack or a way to enter time of day for snack. Nice to have: Allow the user to customize the grams of carbs and/or fat intake per day, maybe as a percentage of daily calories. Muscle Gainer already allows this for protein under the profile screen.
