Disappointing

The app is a really nice foundation, it has the potential to be beautiful, but I am not feeling kind enough to give it even 3 stars.... if it were published on steam store I would have deleted it forever and already gotten my refund, but I don’t know how the policy works on here so whatever. Bug1: issue merging new swamps 2020 Details: failure to recognize certain swamps are distinct during the auto stacking step after a new card is added to inventory. Say I have two of a certain swamp, I scan a different swamp (say qty 8), it clearly recognizes the swamp is different, but when I add it, the qty of the new swamp is set to 10 while the other one still exists as 2, meaning the whole inventory now has an incorrect count. Semi frustrating to isolate the problem and fix. Workaround: don’t use the scan feature for adding the different swamps, find them manually via text / filters and guessing. Bug2: either an incorrect count of used slots or a misleading slot system. The company already charges what I believe to be an absurd amount for a small number of ‘slots’ but that was OK because the app is pretty useful and it had the impression of quality. after scanning 171 cards into my inventory (consuming 171 of my slots) and creating a 60 card deck (this I assumed would consume no slots, since it REQUIRES you to have the slots scanned into your inventory first) I have used 231/500 slots. Bug or rip off, we will let the people decide. Other issues: No more technical issues, the scanning is reliable enough, but once all those cards are scanned (unless you noticed it before going through the trouble), and you want to look through your library, it is disappointing to not be able to filter it in ways meaningful to the game. This is what gets me most angry after spending too much for the stupid slots - finding that the app is lacking in basic browsing capability. There is no ability to browse through my inventory by color, sort by mana cost, etc. This is basic stuff to expect given the price of slots. Whether this kind of lack of thoughtfulness will be improved or made worse by your fabled new app is yet to be seen, but for a company who chooses micro-transactions over quality, you can’t expect a thing.

Best MTG Inventory Manager on the App Store

Exactly what the title says, I’ve been using this app for 3 years, and it doesn’t disappoint.

Great app

Superdude (like super man)

Super easy to use

Pretty good, but a little costly

NightWolf3728

The app is wonderfully laid out and easy to use, the only downside is that you have to pay to use certain sets in your deck. Overall, this is a great app

Fantastic

Great App

Great app to keep track of what I have and what I need. Fantastic customer service. Answered all my emails quickly when I had a question.

Great app. one thing that bothers me though

Thereal12345

I love this app, I don’t even mind paying for the different sets and slots, but one this that bothers me is when I input the cards into my inventory by scanning them I’m not able to change the set after I’ve input them. This shows me different prices and I don’t have an accurate inventory because of it. For example I have a foil Act of Heroism from HoD and it automatically set the set as Masters 25, this card is $.15 from HoD and $.18 from M25. If you could have this feature that would make this review a 5 star for sure

The best there is

I should preface this by saying I have never felt compelled to write an app. store review; this is my first. MTG Manager was exactly what I was looking for. It is a very quick and easy way to catalog my rapidly-growing collection of Magic the Gathering cards. I was skeptical about the speed or ability of the scanner but it is much quicker than searching for cards by name. I was able to enter over 250 cards in minutes. The scanner picked out cards quickly and correctly even in a dimly lit room, it is quite impressive. The card limit is a little limited for the free version of this app. I spent $10 and unlocked 5000 slots. It might seem expensive to some but it is truly worth the price. For ten bucks I can see virtually every card in my collection, track their value and build decks around them. It’s awesome. None of the other apps that claim to do this perform as well. Cards and screens look great on an iPad. I would look at this more as a way to categorize and inventory cards. You can certainly build decks and track value, but the ability to scan/enter cards quickly is the biggest benefit of this app. As other reviewers have mentioned, it would be REALLY nice to have an “add to deck” button, to prevent having to scan or enter cards multiple times or start a new folder. I also haven’t been able to change a card’s set/expansion with the edit button after scanning and have had to rescan to change the set of the card (although it can be done in seconds). I’d also like to be able to sort by rarity, filtering commons, uncommons, rares and mythics with the click of a button. Typically sorting by value will group the rares and mythics but not always. An all-inclusive “premium” option that grants unlimited card slots and inventory space for all past and future blocks would be very much appreciated; I would spend more to get more. Scanning split cards can be a little tricky but with practice you can scan those easily as well. My criticisms and complaints are very minimal. People that mostly play modern should be aware that you will have to pay $1.99 to unlock War of the Spark, Ravnica Allegiance, Guilds of Ravnica, Core 2019 and 2020 ($1.99 each). For an app. of this quality, I’m happy to support the team financially. But cheapskates beware-you will have to pay to fully use this app. Overall, this is an outstanding app and among the first I’ve been willing to spend money on. This is the first app I’ve reviewed due to the quality of the product. The team truly seems to care about customer service and the quality of their app. Other apps claim to do what MTG Manager does but are lacking. Anyone looking to organize their unmanageable collection should seriously consider this app. I’ve already recommended it to two friends who were equally impressed. Solid A

Awesome app for collecting

It’s ridiculously good at scanning the cards. The only con I would give is there is no ability to add cards NOT in the database, mainly special editions like the one from San Diego ComicCon, etc.
