Disappointing – MTG Manager Review

The app is a really nice foundation, it has the potential to be beautiful, but I am not feeling kind enough to give it even 3 stars.... if it were published on steam store I would have deleted it forever and already gotten my refund, but I don’t know how the policy works on here so whatever. Bug1: issue merging new swamps 2020 Details: failure to recognize certain swamps are distinct during the auto stacking step after a new card is added to inventory. Say I have two of a certain swamp, I scan a different swamp (say qty 8), it clearly recognizes the swamp is different, but when I add it, the qty of the new swamp is set to 10 while the other one still exists as 2, meaning the whole inventory now has an incorrect count. Semi frustrating to isolate the problem and fix. Workaround: don’t use the scan feature for adding the different swamps, find them manually via text / filters and guessing. Bug2: either an incorrect count of used slots or a misleading slot system. The company already charges what I believe to be an absurd amount for a small number of ‘slots’ but that was OK because the app is pretty useful and it had the impression of quality. after scanning 171 cards into my inventory (consuming 171 of my slots) and creating a 60 card deck (this I assumed would consume no slots, since it REQUIRES you to have the slots scanned into your inventory first) I have used 231/500 slots. Bug or rip off, we will let the people decide. Other issues: No more technical issues, the scanning is reliable enough, but once all those cards are scanned (unless you noticed it before going through the trouble), and you want to look through your library, it is disappointing to not be able to filter it in ways meaningful to the game. This is what gets me most angry after spending too much for the stupid slots - finding that the app is lacking in basic browsing capability. There is no ability to browse through my inventory by color, sort by mana cost, etc. This is basic stuff to expect given the price of slots. Whether this kind of lack of thoughtfulness will be improved or made worse by your fabled new app is yet to be seen, but for a company who chooses micro-transactions over quality, you can’t expect a thing.
