Timebox Ends Pic Paralysis!

DogLvr21

I have 1,000 photos currently on my phone, and I was completely overwhelmed on how to approach this archive of my past year. iPhoto is a challenging catalogue system, so I am never quick to upload my pics there. Enter Timebox! Timebox miraculously organizes my photos in a super clear way, allowing me to easily add them to events/albums and to easily see those that would be a-ok to delete. This is the most user-friendly photo organization app out there - simplify your photo documentation now and end smart phone pic paralysis! Download Timebox!

Time box is awesome

This app is awesome. I have been using it to journal since January. It is so easy to use and navigate around.

Fun, intuitive and easy to use.

Unintuitive, buggy, limited

This is a timeline app, right? So I decided to import some of my scanned, pre digital school photos. The app supports Dropbox, which is good, and after a couple of crashes I succeeded in importing the photos, but since they were all scanned at the same time, the app saw all the photos as having the same date! (This is why I had titled each photo with the year at the beginning of the filename, but Timebox ignored all that. It doesn't even show the filenames.) Plus, it keeps insisting on adding my photo roll to the photos view even tho I keep unchecking that in the options. The app is like a puzzle when trying to figure it out and it offers very little hand holding.

Timebox is terrific

Preserve your memories with stories

Timebox is an easy (and fun!) way to codify your photo collection into stories that are easy to share. The app really makes a dent in the problem of what to do with your experiences beyond the quick posting on social media, which rarely has much narrative substance. Creating a story is easy with the nifty (and in this version, fast) 3D browser which makes scanning your photos a pleasure. Once selected, you can arrange, annotate and 'publish' your story to email, a pdf book, poster, metal cube, etc. Timebox doesn't have the publishing sophistication of a full Mac photo app (iPhoto, Aperature, etc.) but it's on your phone or tablet, where you are much more likely to use it. I like the progress of the team and the steady improvement of the app; I can't wait for video support and more layout options, but that isn't to take away from a fun app that has the potential to unlock your photo collection. Bravo!

A great App

This app is awesome. I love the simpleness of this app. Yet it had a lot of useful features. It is easy to use and looks nice. I can access all my pictures in one easy place. I am so glad it has an ebook feature. This is the journalling app I have been looking for.

Very nice!

It is very handy for me to keep track of my personal photos and journaling. You can back up to iCloud, which is free. Or you can use the proprietary service called "Timebox cloud" offered by the dev. It is not the same as iCloud sync. You pay extra for it. BUT you don't have to use it. I just use iCloud. You can share a story via PDF by emailing, Facebook or tweet. Any of these three actions will automatically generate a PDF. Please allow us to more freely size and rotate our photos. It would be nice to have the ability to add small stickies and place them on top of our photos or wherever we like on the page, and put text notes on them. We could delete them if we did not need them later. Audio notes, placed anywhere on the page as well, would be great. To be freely dropped onto the page and moved onto various parts of the page as needed (changed later if desired) and deleted if necessary. No Dropbox option. Your information is locked inside this app. No export/import options. If you need to export to another journal, or if you need to import data from other journals, you will not be able to do it here. I do not see any import/export tool. Photos: Too small. This app gets major points because we can see them enlarged on another screen, and zooming in is wonderful. But how about some size flexibility on the main page? Feature requests: Tags would be nice, multiple tags per entry, and make them searchable. Free ePubs (in ePub format). Autosave and Instant save options. An Undo/Redo option would be nice: let it undo the last 20 edits or so. I also dislike that once I accidentally put a rating for an entry, I was unable to delete the rating entirely from the entry. I rated it "I Liked It." My only options were to change my rating, but I could not remove the rating entirely. The screen which shows my entry is too small. I would like to see my entry full sized without the side panel. It looks cramped. It doesn't feel like a real journal if I can't see the full page. More paper options would be nice. I could not find a way to move a previously created entry from one category to another. And not all of us are using it as a "Yearbook" so allow us to toggle on/off that "Self" entry. I created an ePub preview and the look was not what I wanted at all. I am not looking for a Timeline/Yearbook where my age shows up on the top of every page. This is simply a journal about one subject: cooking, and I only want cooking entries and photos of recipes, but no superfluous information which only makes it less useful and less customizable and gives it an annoying Facebook feel. I don't feel like I'm in a journal at all. If I wanted a printed copy, it would be useless with all this extra crap added by the dev. People keep precious memories on these journals. To not have any reasonable forms of backup that do not rely on the dev, such as Dropbox, and to ask people to pay for a full PDF of their journal when other journals offer this service for free, is ridiculous.

I love this app

Very easy to put together. But it would be nice if there was a second option to get multiple pics at the same time. Like a whole line instead of selecting them one by one. Other than that. Very nicely done.
