I originally thought the app would be wasteful and unnecessary just for a nice map graphic on Gyroscope. I decided to try it and now I use it every week. The most crucial function for me is that I can passively track how much time I spend at work and commuting; I actually use it to log my work hours. It also helps me to integrate activity data across apps. I'm running into some bugs though: the app keeps associating certain saved locations as workplaces or homes when they shouldn't be. I've found I can remove them after literally deleting them from the list ten times, but they reappear later. It ends up giving me an incorrect amount of time spent at home/work for the day. Also, after updating my phone, it takes a couple days before Moves is able to track me accurately without turning off randomly.

It's a great app for tracking the places you visited. You can export your activity using a connected app - moves-export - in various formats (including calendar) on a daily basis. Export your location history to your calendar to easily search through your location history. Also works great with Momento - a journaling app. The app also has built-in export functionality, but it only allows to export your complete dataset since you started using the app. It also tracks your steps. Which is a nice extra. It does stop working from time me to time. Reinstalling has always seemed to work so far. But feels like the app is abandoned.

Counts my steps even in the background, waking vs running, where I am..can convert to time walked or miles walked. I have no problems and am pleasantly surprised since the ratings were not that great.

Now it counts everything as walking (even while driving on the highway) or constantly shuts off. What happened???

I been using Moves for 3 years and it is great except for the past months it kept hanging more frequently and stops tracking. I had to delete and reinstall every 2-5 days. It is frustrating and no response from the developer.

Inaccurate, unacceptable privacy terms

As so many other reviewer's have remarked, this app has become completely inaccurate. Which makes it all the worse that editing functions are severely limited. Moves says you slept in the supermarket last night? Well, then you slept in the supermarket last night. Every day, this app claims that I've run for 10 minutes. That information is not editable because it doesn't show up on the timeline. So I guess every day I've run for 10 minutes.… The app crashes and needs to be reinstalled frequently. The privacy terms are unacceptable. Unless you're okay with Facebook harvesting all your location and exercise data and selling it to whomever they please. Going to see a doctor? Expect Facebook to show you ads related to your health condition. Going somewhere where you don't want everyone to know about? Well, Facebook will certainly know about it and sell that info to anyone. The developers initially promised to keep all info private, but broke that promise (and, remember, people paid money based on that promise). This company can't be trusted. Pass.

Buggy and inadequate

1) Step tracking is not accurate - it tends to over count. 2) Battery hog 3) Crashes. Like. Always. 4) To overcome its wrong step tracking it does not connect to popular step trackers or HealthKit which would be better by many multiples.

Undoubtedly the worst app in the app store. Is this developed by 5 year olds? Completely unreliable... You couldn't make this app worse if you intentionally tried...

I love the app. But I need to reinstall it every day or two. It hasn’t been updated in 6 months, and I end up missing tracking info which is why I bought he app in the first place. Multiple website requests for support have been thus far ignored. Seem to remember seeing that the publisher was bought by Facebook-this is no way to treat customers!! [Edit 12-8-17] Went from an iPhone 6 to and iPhone X. Seems that the increase in RAM on the phone from 1GB to 3GB has addressed the problems. My data file is over 4 yrs old now, and guessing the old phone counts handle it. [Edit 3-21-18] This App hasn’t been updated in 9 months. What gives??
