You can enable/disable individual photo-albums of your library for using as tile-image source. There are also some carefully chosen options for optimizing the mosaic-generation like whether or not to optimize the colors of the individual tiles, minimizing the usage of the same tiles and specifying the tile-size.
You see an interactive real-time preview of the mosaic while it is created. You can also let the generation happen in background while you are doing other things with your iPhone or iPad. Then you will be notified, when the mosaic is done. The result can be saved to the photo library in full resolution.
Mosaic Creator lets you also create self-organizing maps.

The app itself is fine, but why do they not tell you that you need to enable location services to use it, even when all you want to do is to use photos that are ALREADY on your iPad. Why do they need to know where you are?

I made a collage using all of my 203 pictures and the finished product was four pictures in a square. Not at all what I expected...

1. No photo albums show up for "TILE" but they do for "PHOTO". 2. Requires location services to be on which should not be required. 3. Downloaded to 3GS and 4gen iTouch with same problems. 4. If a patch comes out than maybe this would be worth using but for now it's a dud

I was having so much fun watching this app create mosaics of my photos (made up of my photos) that I literally had to make myself stop to write this review! This is a far superior mosaic maker than any I have used before. Also, I'm not sure if it is because I am using a 64 GB new generation iPad, but I was able to create mosaics that far exceeded the level that it was warned could cause a crash. I created one photo made of almost 25,000 tiles. The app warns that above about 8,000 tiles can cause a crash. It is extremely cool to watch in action and the results are very impressive. Finding the right photo to use with this app is not as difficult as it is with some other art apps or mosaic creators. I only had a few photos that didn't turn out so well. I highly recommend this app to anyone who wants to create beautiful works of art with their photos. Especially recommended for people with large photo libraries. You will be amazed! You have to select one album to make it select a group of tiles. Clicking all of them doesn't seem to work.
