I have been using Trace for a few months and have enjoyed the ease with which I can sketch and that I can sketch anywhere I go. Last week, I had a scale issue with plotting; when I contacted support, I was very quickly helped, forwarded to the right person and provided with a solution. It was this attention to the end user that prompted my review.

This app captures the messy nature of the design process and augments with helpful tools. The ability to give it scale dimension is just so fundamental yet you rarely come about an app that has great sketching interface to have, else you are left with clunky CAD pseudo mobile apps.

A review for iPad pro by a Licensed Architect: This is one of the best sketching apps out there. I use it regularly and I have the Pro version which has additional features which are a must have for an architect to use. To have a digital scale, that is always at the correct scale, while you zoom in and out.. priceless.... I stopped using the good old fashioned trace paper about a two years ago because this program is that good. I made the fully digital transition for my Architectural Career & i will never go back. I use this program for: All of my conceptual sketching. All of my hand drawings. Redline drawings. Onsite field measurements of existing conditions Sketching over PDF's & images I send my digital sketches directly from the program which is a 2 tap progress. Sooo easy.

Exactly what I need
Not Exiled
If I could design an app, it would be this one. As an architect I usually use tracing paper and sketch on top of plans, while sketching other views. With Trace I can do just that and much better. And I can use as many layers as I want, show and hide the ones I want, and save and send any sketches I want. I have all my current and past projects right in my hand. There's no reason not to use this app!
Only available in inches

Unfortunately, the only measurements available in the iPhone app are inches. Sadly, this makes it unusable for most people on the planet.
