Awesome app, but slow response times

First time using this overall was really pleased with the outcome. I had a slightly tricky floor layout so getting ideas on how to place furniture was extremely valuable. The furniture and decor recommendation that I have purchased have all been phenomenal. My one complaint is how slow the process is, and how slow email responses are. I ordered a bookshelf from CB2 via Modsy and it arrived with half of the pieces missing. My only option was to email Modsy since they placed it for me and still no response after 2 days. If I purchased directly from CB2 I would have already called them and probably would have resolved the issue by now.

I loved my design from Modsy. The trouble started when I tried to order stuff. Part of your design fee comes back to you as a credit on products you order, but it’s only good for so many days. Modsy recommended a number of pieces from their house brand — Ravine home. Obviously, I wanted to get a sense of the quality so I ordered some fabric swatches first. Those took over a month to arrive. By then, the promotion had LONG expired. On top of that, there was a technical issue where the app wouldn’t let me add anything to my cart. Tech support very nicely worked that out over a few weeks. They managed to fix it but, again, by then my credit was expired. Also, be aware that if you do order thru Modsy, they claim to get a competitive price on things. This appears to be nothing more than the advertised sales by each retailer. But, in any event, by ordering from so many places, you will pay a gazillion dollars in shipping. Basically, the designers are excellent. Acquiring the products in the design is not worth it.

Overall I’ve had a great experience with Modsy for design inspo. I wish the designs would come faster (mine took 3 weeks) but to be fair they tell you this up front. My designs are awesome and I can’t wait to bring them to life. Im so impressed that my designer really took the time to look at my Pinterest carefully. The 3D rendering is very cool. My main gripe is the product function is pretty clunky. The filters when searching for an item definitely need improving. Also many of the item descriptions do not have dimensions! Seems like a huge flaw for selling furniture. I also wish they could show you specific bedding and window treatments. Super cool app for design inspo, but I probably won’t buy items through them.

Took the work out of designing my home

I was so excited to redesign my living room, until I found out how much work it takes to do this! I was quickly overwhelmed by design ideas on Pinterest, furniture websites (i.e., Wayfare), not to mention planning for the fit and cost of a broad range of products. I was so over it, until, I remembered Modsy could do it all for me for a reasonable flat fee. My Modsy designer took the information I provided, on the app and through our phone call, and ran with it. She came back with a professional design in a few days (rush order is totally worth it) that made my vision come to life. Then, she made changes to the design based on my feedback in a day! I literally know it would have taken me weeks of information overload to come up with a design and still, it may not have been as great as the one my designer came up with in a few days. This is their expertise, give them a shot. I highly recommend Modsy to anyone excited about designing their home with no hassle.

Living Room Relief!

I love this site! So simple to use! I have kind of an odd living room space rectangular open living room area. I’ve had so much trouble making it work. I had an idea of what I wanted it to feel like since it’s a small open space but couldn’t seem to put it together. Modsys team worked with me ongoingly until we had a design layout that captured my style. I emailed back and forth with Molly and the others and their response time, personal communication and honoring their said policy of redoing the layout and style until the customer is satisfied is on the money! Also, I love the stores they recommended furniture from and they were able to find great items in my price range with many alternative options other than the ones they recommended. What a great system and site! I am fully pleased and purchasing several items from my design. Thank you!

Don’t waste your money

They market themselves as helping you layout a room. In actuality they will lay out 3 pieces, and you pay extra for any more. This is an app to sell you furniture, under the pretense of helping you with room design.
