Loaded the game, got a lengthy instructions, then NOTHING happened! Very poor game design, too heavy on technical realism, no fun on game play.....too geeky!

Crummy controls, no real purpose for game...don't wast time

Solid, detail-heavy wargame
JayJack77

Steep learning curve but if you're into this level of hvy strategic/operational gaming and you invest the effort, well worth the return. I'd love to see a mission editor/ would also be nice to see a mission recap w actual losses indicated (not just points)

Where is the help file?

Touching Help only shows a quick reference. No detailed manual.

Love it

I have been waiting for this type of game for the iPad. It reminds me also of the Harpoon type of game/simulation. I hope that there are more Tiller games to come to iOS. This is a great start. Be patient and read the instructions you can find online. You won't be sorry

Awesome

Have played all his other versions on the PC and am glad to see this series is getting to a larger audience. A great game and a great start to a new platform.

Outstanding!

Fantastic port from the PC version with great interface, and realistic gameplay/simulation. Having John Tiller in the mobile space is a wargamer's dream come true. The fact that the app is so well designed is just icing on the cake.

The best is yet to come ...

Bravo John Tiller! This app if a fine piece of work, and absolutely the most realistic air warfare sim available! I have some background in JTS’s PC titles based off this engine, and I have to say that it transition absolutely seamlessly to the iOS. The price can’t be beat, and the sequence of scenarios do an excellent job of introducing concepts to the player. The downside: there just isn’t enough. I can only image that JTS is using the model that they have for their other iOS lines, where there is a free introductory app that serves as a tutorial, and then a series of paid apps. Let’s get on with it then! Give them to me as IAP, or a separate app if you must. Give me Operation Allied Force!! Give me Desert Storm!! Give me Vietnam!! Give me the Arab Israeli War!! This almost cruel and unusual … let’s put some meat on these bones!

Tactical air combat at its finest
Knightshockey23

This excellent wargame simulates modern and near-future air combat at the tactical level, and should be considered a must-play for anyone seeking a departure from the more casual iOS fare. Fans of the Harpoon series, Jane's Fleet Command or Command: Modern Air / Naval Operations (all on PC) should stop reading this review immediately and download the game: you'll be right at home. For others, this game may appear rather unapproachable, with an admittedly clunky interface and detailed modeling of aircraft and land-based radar and emissions. Those who put in the time to read the extensive documentation and learn the underlying systems, a game of incredible depth and realism awaits. My only complaint is lack of a unified campaign and the overall impression that this app was designed to be a tutorial for greater things to come. Of course, it's free, so there's nothing wrong with that.
