Great technology! All scanned perfectly!

Ziahbear

Wow ! Just received my 10 ounce bars and silver rounds! All scanned perfectly using the app with my iPhone! Beautiful product and peace of mind!

Worked pretty well once I figured out where tap.

Sylvenie

I wasn’t sure how to tap the coin at first so it wasn’t working. I finally tapped using the top of my iPhone and got it to work. It returned all the relevant information!

Whatever

When I found out that none of my devices, android or apple worked with this app, the most impressive part of the silver round became the side with the buffalo on it. At least I have my consolation prize. I'm sure it would fetch a premium if the technology worked.

User Error

I wasn’t sure if I wanted this app based on reviews but after reading them, the issues people were having seemed to be based user error. After giving it a shot it took me about 4 seconds to figure out how to tap it to reveal the info. This app is simple and provides a sense of security knowing what you’re holding is genuine. Give it a shot.

Works like a charm

Using an iPhone X, had no problem whatsoever. Really cool app, and a really great way to verify the authenticity of your precious metals. Users having difficulty either have a thick case on their phones, or they are not technically savvy. This works flawlessly.

REQUIRES A LITERAL PHYSICAL TAP !

MintID needs to update their instructions on their website. First, there is no setting on iPhones to turn on NFC scanning as the instructions say to do. After researching, all iPhones always have NFC running in the background. This app also requires you to physically tap the coin, bar or product you are trying to scan. This can damage iPhone’s glass backing. It should work like Apple Pay without banging your phone. Again horrible instructions as everyone assumes that when an app says to tap, they are thinking to tap your finger when the alert pops up that instructs to tap. One must tap your actual phone on the physical product to get the app to initiate the scan. Be careful not to damage your phone. This must be changed as I can’t imagine to continue to bang my $1200 iPhone with it’s glass backing against bars of hard silver and gold in order to scan. The developers must update this app with ability to initiate the scan without having to physically tap the phone. I only did this on the MintID plastic roll of silver rounds and will not use this for actual metals until they update. After spending over 40 minutes trying to scan using iPhone 11max pro with no luck and having to figure this out by research this whole concept of scanning is useless without an update and better support instructions. Embarrassing for a app targeted to customers to protect their authenticity of gold.

Tap with front of your iPhone

Ht wi

At first (I phone SE 2nd gen 2020) wouldnt show results . After reading reviews and feeling dumb I tried the front half of phone to tap on the bar, and it works . Might take a few tries but it does show your metals authenticity and other stuff. Just tap with screen side upper half of your iPhone!

Great App — user error?

Based on other reviews, I believe most of the issues are sounding more like user/device error...legit all you gotta do is just tap your phone on your product and your all done — this isn’t rocket science here... I say this because i had zero issues at all...I just rec’d my first two MintID products (5oz. Bar & 1oz. Round) and so I downloaded the app and registered, and because NFC is always running on iOS, and using my iPhone 11 Pro - I tapped the backside-tip of the phone (aka top section of the back of the phone) on the bar and BOOM! Results = GENUINE! Super easy, super quick, I love it. So far 2 for 2 genuine results & more to come... I believe this app should have a higher rating than it currently has because it seems to work just fine. There’s no easier or efficient way to confirm the identity of your product, especially these days with so much counterfeit product and so many scams out there, sometimes it could be hard to tell...but not with MintID! So big shout out to the devs and creators of MintID by helping reassure authenticity with such ease! THANK YOU!!
