MiniCast is a lightweight companion to existing apps like Overcast, Apple Podcasts, Castro and Pocket Casts. Send episodes to your Apple Watch via the Share Extension.
1.) Install MiniCast on your Apple Watch
2.) Enable the Share Extension in the Activity Sheet
3.) Use your favorite podcast app on the iPhone/iPad to send podcast episodes to your Apple Watch before you start your workout.
4.) Download the episode in the MiniCast app on your Apple Watch
5.) Use Bluetooth headphones or AirPods to listen to the episode.

I am yet another victim of this bogus app. Never worked once. (Wouldn’t download any podcasts other than the one Serial Ep. 1 podcast it came loaded with.) I’ve got an Apple Watch 3 with Cellular and an iPhone 7. Zero response from app Support including my request for refund. Anyone else interested in a class action suit to get our money back?

Getting a podcast to be listed on the watch is an awkward, five or six step dance, but at least it will reliably get there. But you can’t start playing until it fully downloads, which works maybe one time in ten. It’ll either never start, go extremely slowly, or best of all, get up to 100% and then quit, throwing you back to the “Download” button. Rebooting the watch doesn’t help. Doing one a time doesn’t help. I wish I knew the magic trick.

Unable to get a podcast download past 50%. Very unstable, unusable app! Disappointing that Apple still doesn’t have a native podcast app for the Apple Watch!

Even testing with 5-minute podcasts, I have not been able to successfully download an episode. The most I’ve seen the download percent get to is 30% and then the download fails or restarts.

Just paid $4 to be able to send podcasts to my watch and ..... it doesn’t work. Shows podcast playing but will not play on my AirPods

Paid for the ability to “share” podcasts from ios Podcast app to the Apple Watch. Doesn’t work. As others have pointed out, you wait ages for the podcast to download, it reaches 100%, and then the download button reappears. Useless. Worse than that, it’s a paid app, and I’ve heard nothing back from tech support. No offer of a refund. Nothing.
