Perfectly good

Classifying business and personal is indispensable. Having the map with zoom makes classification even easy than the other apps I tried.

Serious pro tracker

I work as a freelance driver and need to expense my mileage against multiple companies each tax year. Over the last year I have used Milecatcher and found it to be very simple to use yet very powerful. I generate reports per company each month and for my own business for the schedule C form end of each tax year. The app does all the math. My reports are per sales project so the company knowns what I expense them for. My reports even have a chart that show mileage expenses per week. Never received a question challenging my claims Milecatcher is a really powerful mileage tracker app. I love how it shows each trips actual route on a big map and how it sort trips in folders by status. Makes it super easy to find the trips I haven't yet classified. It works like your email. Clear the inbox and you're done. Otherwise, when you have many trips logged you end up wasting a lot of time scrolling. This design also means less mistakes. Less mistakes. Very unique. Classifying trips is now the real headache. But having the ability to classify my commute every day is frankly a big deal. I can also filter trips by weekday and bulk classify weekend trips as personal. Both saves me a lot of time over a year. I feel the risk of an IRS audits is zero! If fact by using this app I now log many more trips and can prove it with full address and route. The other app I used, only showed me Seattle as start and stop location on reports. Useless if you want to prove where you drove. And you can’t expect the IRS to sit with your phone to review your start and end location. Not realistic at all. All reports comes in three formats. I prefer that I can access all the historic pdf reports in the web portal at any time. Makes it super simple to find old reports if requested. The statistics menu is the most powerful feature I found. I can produce a statistics report per client in the web portal and can display trends over time. Each printed pdf report has a final graph page which I submit as proof. I also log trips per vehicle so I can compare odometer end of year vs the log. This app is amazing and does everything I need better at half the cost. So worth it.

I have been using Milecatcher for more than year. Almost two. Always iPhone. Milecatcher has been very accurate and reliable. A fantastic bargain. I log more trips and spend much less time keeping log classified. Their design is unique. Simple. Fast! Like email. You can classify a weeks trips in less time than it takes to get a coffee at Starbucks. The design is the best!! Just like email folders. Keeps your focus on unclassified trips. I REALLY like there is not one long roll of all trips logged. If so, it would be impossible to find specific trips just a few weeks back. Remember you will likely log more than thousand trips a year. Design matters! With this app, all trips are sorted in one of four folders by status. Your job is to clear the unclassified trips. If you need to revisit older trips you select a time period like last month and go to one of the other three folders. Looking back, Milecatcher has been super easy to use. No real issues. The app is still responsive after one years usage. All trip data is backed up in the cloud to offload local storage. You can generate reports from the app or from web portal. All reports are saved and you can download them later from the web portal. You can even send your manager a report for reimbursement directly from the app! I couldn’t find a better app that shows the actual trip on a map and use full address for easy recall. You want ability to use different business rates plus Medical, Charity of course. You want to edit addresses like My office or Client names and have app remember next time. Such edits makes reports much more readable. It’s also very easy to add notes and parking expenses which of course will show up on your expense reports. Make sure to check out the web portal of the various apps you try out. You should expect features that take advantage of the larger screen like displaying route on a large map, filters, statistics and keyboard shortcuts to classify repeat trips faster. Their Work Hour rule is brilliant! If there is no need to log trips in the weekends, then why do it? Less trips means more time saved. There are other good mileage apps out there. Pick one with a design you like and reports you can use. Make sure they have responsive support and ask if you can export all your trip data if you need to leave. Happy driving!

MileCatcher doesn't just make it easy the subscription is worth every cent as it saves all the short trips automatically and has doubled my deductions. Pays back in less than a month.

Now I don't have to remember to log my miles anymore. I started using the work hours feature so I don’t need to review trips logged outside work hours. Makes so much sense. Thank you!

Bait and switch.

Bakery Joe isn't happy

I was told as an early adopter of this app that I’d be grandfathered in and be subjected to the $50 annual fee, but apparently that changed and now I need to pay to use this app. The app takes forever to load the map before you can classify the trip. Support is a joke

Good
