If I wanted flipboard, I’d get flip board. This is like a crappy off brand version with boring design, listcles from websites I’ve never heard of and crappy clickbait galore. This used to be the one app I could go to to get news on a variety of topics from many sources. Now it’s just web trash.
Great... When the news text loads

Great app to give people up to date news from variety of sources. However, the new app is repeatedly not downloading the news. Often, all I get is a picture and then scrolls of white space where the article should be. I then have to delete app and then reload. Really? Did the issue. And the new format is tough to get used to. Way too busy. I liked the old format. But if you can't load the text, the app is useless. Update: 7/10/18 l, 2 weeks after writing this review, SAME ISSUES! I am having you delete and re download app because the text on certain articles doesn't download, only pictures. Really? 2018 and you can't figure out a fix? The old app NEVER had this issue. Update: 7/11/18. Just had to delete the app and then download it again so the text will appear! Seriously, someone needs to get on this. Changing rating to a 1 star until they fix this issue.

The new format on this app has turned into one enormous advertising debacle, and the choices of articles have become tawdry. Sponsored adds have been formatted to mimic genuine news sources. The mix of articles from various news sources has degenerated into a mediocre mix that readers have to wade through in order to find good journalism. Shame on Microsoft. Soon, I’ll simply delete this app from my phone unless they wise up.

The selected stories show no evidence of curation. Smarmy insertion of sponsored “news” material. Little sense that content managers are doing more than filling space. A sad decline for one of my go-to apps.

The layout is nice, and it provides welcome news updates in the notifications throughout the day, but i prefer to use a news app where I can follow and unfollow specific news outlets, which I could not figure out how to do with this app.

I’d like this app to work but too often it fails to display pages and tries to blame the user’s Internet connection. Baloney!!
