I've been using One Note for a few months now and I love it! Just started using it on my iPad as well and it's been great. No issues with syncing, the apple pencil works very well within the app.

What’s not to like?

bclary59

Does what it should do, when it is supposed to. Not one bad thing ...

Long Time windows user

Themarinesurveyor

I have used notes since the beginning and as usual with Microsoft there have been numerous upgrades. With the advent of windows 365 even more upgrades and changes resulting in loss of data . Now that is MY experience using a windows operating system so now having downloaded NOTES to use on my IPAD Pro I require to access all my notes.....its been a nightmare of searches using 3 computers and still not a 100% result. Waste of my time .

Why I Love OneNote

PhilipBLee

1. It’s free on windows, Mac, iPhone and Androids, etc. 2. It syncs across all my platforms 3. I used to have a notebook where I took notes in meetings, saved ideas and concepts worth exploring, created lists, especially lists of things to do, etc. Now I have thrown away my notebook and replaced it with OneNote! 4. I create a New Folder each year and create Sections for each major topic. Within each major topic I create pages by date. My ability to find my own notes using OneNote is superior to when I had a notebook. 5. My ability to build on ideas has flourished with OneNote! I no longer forget my great ideas. 6. My ability to get things done using OneNote is similar to when I created To Do lists! 7. That’s just the high level benefits I’ve experienced. There are lots more features I haven’t even touched upon. This one tool has made me more productive, more creative and more systematic. 8. I spend between 2-4 hours a day on this app and it’s by far the best tool I use on the iPhone daily! Throw away your pencil and paper in favor of OneNote, you will be glad you did.

IPAD users beware

iPad User (con)

Unbelievably frustrating. Super glitchy (sometimes the drawings jump around, images dont show up etc) and crashing CONSTANTLY (either just exits the app and forgets the last 30 seconds of work, or suddenly doubles its storage size on my iPad and locks me out for minutes at a time stating "One Note needs at least x amount of storage to operate"). Started happening after a few months of notes. Takes up an egregious amount of space, even with class notebook that stores old notebooks on cloud. Also has ridiculous syncing issues: just about every single one of my notebooks has a syncing "error" attached. If these issues were to resolve I would have given the app 3.5-4 stars because overall it go the job done and was simple to use once I learned how to use it. ALSO: your capabilities are very limited on iPad. There is not much you can do in terms of saving the information on an external hardrive, sharing the files, etc. There are not many setting items that you can mess around with either. Pretty annoying for troubleshooting issues. Normally dont write reviews, but I felt I had to considering the amount of time I threw into this app, and how disappointed I was in the end. (I was very happy with it in the beginning). Would have been worth it to buy another app specifically designed for Apple products.

Good, but neglected

Elliott Collins

OneNote seems to be the best full-sized note taking and organization system around, so I use it more and more. But it also lacks at least a dozen features that make it much easier to use and Microsoft has no incentive to add them.

Highly Inconsistent with the Windows 10 version

gsktl

Many features are very inconsistent with the windows 10 software. As an owner of 3 surface products and an ipad pro, I feel like I am being punished for using my IPad. This version of the app has many of the same features, but is lagging in critical areas.

Awesome but one downside

Dyingmagician36

I have this app on my office computer and on my MacBook , I made some sticky notes because it’s perfect to know what work is recent, but I can’t seem to be able to see the sticky notes on both devices. Can you guys make the app capable to see the notes on any device with the account?

Truly Terrific App

D'sMama

I’ve been using this app daily for years. I use it to maintain a homeschool portfolio and document school work. It’s very flexible and provides everything I need to do the job. I love that it syncs to multiple devices —phone, table, laptop.
