Metronomics Metronome

Metronomics is not only a metronome, but a tool designed to help build a solid sense of time and rhythmic security. It's a new kind of metronome -- use Metronomics to generate random patterns, sequenced grooves, or a combination of both to help you practice with more than just your typical click track. Enough features to keep a professional busy for years or start a beginner on the right track.

The only metronome that gives you complete control over how subdivisions are played -- add subdivisions of any type (including custom subdivisions like 5/7) and have them played all the time, at random intervals, or in a sequenced pattern.

Features:
- Choose from 40 different samples for each subdivision, mastered for iOS devices
- Generate patterns using random or sequenced variations of different subdivisions
- Include built-in preset patterns such as claves or ride cymbal patterns
- Choose any number of beats per measure (with any denominator) you like or practice mixed meters such as 4/4 + 3/8 + 5/4 where the segments of the bar get accented automatically
- Use any type of subdivision. Common types like quarter notes, sixteenth notes, eighth triplets, etc, or create your own. 5/7, 23/4, no problem!
- Take a rhythm and use the "offset" feature to move it to different parts of the measure to practice with.
- Set the metronome to speed up or slow down by a given amount after a set number of measures
- Have Metronomics start with a count off
- Set the metronome to run for a certain amount of time
- Share saved metronomes back and forth with other Metronomics users
- Track your metronome usage. App shows how much you've practiced with it each day and total (optionally turn off time tracking)
- Train yourself with "independence" mode where you can set some bars to be inaudible -- keep the time going yourself until the click starts again
- Variable swing feel -- choose how much each subdivision swings
- Speech sounds for counting up to 10 that can be assigned to any subdivision (English language only)
- Play in the background
- AUv3 support -- use Metronomics as an audio unit within other host apps. Ableton Link for sync.
- Great battery management -- doesn't drain the battery like many other iOS metronomes
- Normalized sounds for good volume
- Manual (plus videos) describing how to use all the features and hints about how they might be useful

Thank You

Goodbye Dr. Beat. I really like the sound choices. Perhaps add a visa blue square under the subdivision that would blink - that subdivision. Nice visual cue option (turn on/off switch) to help teach students. I'm a 25+ year music teacher.

Truly fantastic

This is a great practice tool! It makes you wonder why nobody thought of it before. Cool options that are unavailable on other metronome apps.

A Must-Have for Musicians

The best metronome app I've found!

Wonderful & Addictive!

This is the 4th metronome I've bought from the App Store and it has become my hands-down favorite. In fact I can't tear myself away from it! The ability to mute a user-defined number of measures is a KILLER feature. In my genre we play a lot of dance tunes with 8- bar parts. With this app I can make the clicks audible for the first 8 measures then mute the next 8 measures and so on ad infinitum. This is incredibly useful in that it lets me see if I am speeding up or slowing down. I do this by closing my eyes and listening to see if I land back on the beat when the click starts again. I can feel my groove getting steadier after just 24 hours! Letting the user define the number of measures that are audible vs. those that are in audible are what sets this app apart from another app that mutes the beats randomly. That sounded cool at first, but in practice I found that the intervals of audible clicks vs. inaudible clicks were much too short to pose a challenge. Not so with Metronomics. This app gives YOU complete control to set the bar as high or low as you want. So get Metronomics -- you won't be disappointed. Love, love, love this app!

Very hip metronome app!

Great sounds that are easy to change. Endless subdivision choices. 500bpm!! And best of all it has accurate settings of bpm (unlike many metronome apps that I have used). A highly recommended practice tool created by a musician for musicians!

No Set List
This is my dang nickname!

This app is so close. How could there be no front page accessible set list? If you'll add a set list function under which I can save songs and access them with increment/decrement buttons I'll change my rating to a 5!
