Awesome keep it up

Awesome keep it up.

It's playable.

Nikitawillis

Come on, it's playable. Adjust the speed in the settings and the frame rate thing is fine. The virtual d-pad is nothing like the feel of the original NES controllers, so if you were great at the NES version, be prepared to make an adjustment. If you have a craving to whip through the game in 12 minutes then blow some spittle into your old cartridge and fire up your NES. It's worth $2. Period.

Ummm...

...thanks for the Boss Rush mode. Now fix the actual game please. Thank you.

Terrible port of a great game

baylennn

This game would be really good if it wasn't for the fact that it runs at a max 15 fps!

No controller support

Fr33agent

No controller support sadly I hope they add this n allow for a larger screen area. Also the games seems a bit choppy. I wish it played and had the options as the legacy collection on PS4 but that might be asking for too much Other then that it's mega man with a touch screen so prepare to be frustrated.

Almost as bad as Mega Man X mobile

A DøøD who plays games.

The controls can use work, and the frame rate is unplayable for a game of this difficulty. worse 2 dollars i have ever spent on an app.

Horrible Port

Mega Man 2 is almost 30 years old. iOS is about a decade old. In all that time, couldn't Capcom do better? This release is clearly an inferior port. The game is choppy and buggy. It is a dishonor to the company, a blight in the history of gaming. I picked the Metal Man stage. Right away, I knew the negative reviews were correct. I couldn't understand how this got past testing. The frame rate was terrible. The music sounded like I remembered, so I kept playing. What a disgrace. The drill bits weren't layered. They just appeared right above the platforms – not underneath like it's supposed to. This is basic stuff, basic development, basic testing. My iPad Air 2 is roughly 1000 times powerful than a Nintendo Entertainment System. The game should not play so poorly. I pressed on and I managed to beat Metal Man. It wasn't easy, as tapping flat glass is not the same as using a controller. Even with the issues, perhaps the game was still playable? Nope, not really. I picked the Wood Man level next. I couldn't even make Mega Man climb down the ladder. This is the most basic of testing. It seems like playing through the game just once would reveal that problem. I admit, I still had fun, if only to laugh at how terrible this game is. Capcom, what happened? This is really shoddy work. I thought you were better than this. What's truly disappointing is that there's so much potential here. The quick switching of weapons and auto fire can make the game less tedious than the original. This could have been a great port. Mega Man 2 is a classic. Having the game on my iPad and iPhone could have been cool. (Boss Rush is fun though.) So, instead of demanding a refund from Apple, I can wait and see. Maybe Capcom will redeem themselves. There have been a few updates. Maybe Capcom will get it together. Maybe they'll fix the game. I don't know if they will, but they really should. A game this bad hurts their brand. It is possible to make a good port on iOS. Sonic The Hedgehog is an excellent example of how this should be done.

It just feels wrong

BouncePseudonym

I tried Normal and Fast mode for the framerate, but it just feels laggy. Megaman doesn't move the way you would expect. It's also really hard to jump and shoot at the same time. This game will need a major update to be playable.

Still a Classic

I am an avid player of the Mega Man II port on iOS from Beeline. I am very sad to be seeing that version pulled from the app store and Apple saying it won't run on future versions of iOS, so I checked this version out. It is really heartening to see Capcom taking up the reigns and supporting their own product. I will buy the entire series right away. The framerate is slow, but the game plays at a normal or custom turbo speed. The music is spot on. Also, what really stands out from the Beeline port is the enemies work properly. They jut out at you and attack, and the bosses are so engaging and artistically played out, Capcom also included a Boss Rush. They even offer a nicely upgraded, from the NES experience, weapon select menu, with full descriptions and a tremendously convenient quick-select buster/special weapon toggle button on the main screen. Don't let the framerate stop you. This is a very playable port series and definitely worth a look. Since I am a modern and classic gamer, travel frequently, and almost exclusively play on my iPad Mini, this will be one of my most treasured collections. I also find the Mega Man games very accessible and friendly as a girl gamer. I would like to see Capcom offer more of the Mega Man experience on iOS. Megaman Legends 1 & 2 are tremendously charming and engaging with a rich, open world, and the battle network games are even interesting. With many genuine articles Sega Genesis classics on iOS falling out of support, and the retro scene trying to bring in replacements, we need someone to keep our original playable on the current systems. Thank you for cherishing our classics, Capcom.
