Reviews

Layout a bit confusing but overall good. I have a feature suggestion.

Please consider adding a script feature to Medibang Paint like the one in the Comic Draw app. I like that I can write the script for my comics within Comic Draw. In this app, it’s also possible to drag lines from the script and it automatically creates speech bubbles with the text inside. I would love this feature in Medibang Paint!

New update for IOS 13

I don’t understand how to save things with the new update. It’s too confusing

The Gallery Save is lame!
Howdoesthiswork?

Im with everyone else on this. It is a major pain on IOS 13 that we have to save each individual thing to the “My Gallery” before we can even export our works. Can we please go back to where we DIDN’T have to save in “My Gallery” everytime we wanted to export something?

New save technique
Wolves654

Hello I’m a frequent user of the app and I can’t help but notice the save feature has been changed completely. The new ‘share and save image’ technique is getting really frustrating to use and I’m even considering switching art apps. Now I don’t want to do this as I love using medibang, but it’s a lot more difficult to save my art. I loved the old save feature which was quick and easy, just not the new one that’s come into play.

Buggy update
Amy-lilles

Since the latest update, none of the tools work like they are suppose to. The airbrush is just a pen on very low opacity. And the blur and smudge brushes are also just pencils and not acting like they should. I love this app but this new update has a lot of bugs to be worked out.

Pretty good for illustration, bad for painting

Medibang is a fairly good program for making clean and neat illustrations. But that’s about it. The paintbrushes and more “complex “ brushes usually are hard and complicated to change setting wise, and are less fun as they’re extremely hard to blend with, as there’s no pressure settings like on ibis paint. Medibang is a stronger program for if you’re trying to be beat and clean with minimalistic and smooth art vs a all around art program. The only other thing is that there’s a ton of menus you have to go through to use stuff like the select tool, but you kinda get used to it after a bit.

Pretty good, but...

So I just picked this app up after seeing it being praised online for how good it can be. I have a couple good things to say about it, and a few bad things. I used IbisPaint X before getting MediBang, and still do, since I don’t think I could actually use this app for too long. It can get a bit frustrating. Then again, I’ve only been using it for a short time. I haven’t seen everything it has to offer, or everything that could be wrong with it, but I’ll give my options and observations either way. The good things: T•he brushes are very nice. I use the Pen brush the most, and I must say, it’s very crisp and nice to look at. With pen pressure on and correction all the way up, your line art can look very very good. •It’s pretty easy to navigate. Once you learn where everything is, which takes about 20-30 seconds at most, it’s easy to use. The bad things: •When correction is on, especially in the higher numbers, your brushes tend to move slower. This also applies to the eraser, which I dislike a lot. IbisPaint has a function where when turned on, your brushes do this automatically. I always have it turned off because it just feels awkward and slow. I have not seen a button to turn this off on here, and it only really happens when correction is on. If this could be fixed, that would be wonderful and definitely earn it another star on the rating. •The eraser is very VERY awkward. The app shows you how big the brushes/esaser should be with a little circle. When I see the circle go over the lines I’ve made, I expect the line to start being erased as soon as the circle touches it. Instead, it feels like I’m scrubbing at the line to get it to go away, and having to use the middle of the circle instead of the whole thing. It’s a bit hard to explain, but I hope you can understand what I mean. •Rotating the canvas with your fingers is super janky. When rotating in IbisPaint (yes I’m still comparing them because that’s what I use), it’s very smooth and easy on the eyes. In MediBang, I get a headache from simply rotating the canvas. It snaps into predetermined positions and sometimes doesn’t register which way I’m trying to turn it and kinda does it’s own thing.. •When you zoom in, it’s like the rest of the canvas doesn’t exist, and kind of unloads, so when you zoom back out it’s pixelated and just hard to look at. This is more of a nitpick than an actual problem, but it’s something that, if fixed, would make the experience of using this app that much better. (IbisPaint doesn’t have that, and actually keeps the entire canvas loaded.) Again, I haven’t seen all the app has to offer, but so far it’s been leaving a bad taste in my mouth. Perhaps these problems aren’t as big as I’m making them seem, and other people can use MediBang just fine the way it is, but I can’t get into it. I’m sticking with IbisPaint X. I hope the app can get better, and others can utilize it better than I can.
