Med City Taxi of Rochester, Minnesota is proud to introduce it smart phone app.
Now you can book your ride and track the taxi in real time from your smart phone or tablet. You can book from your GPS location or enter an address for your next ride.

Med City Taxi is Rochester’s favorite and now easiest way to book a taxi.
The app's new layout and interface seems well intended, however additional testing and bug fixes are needed before this app will be functional. The drop-off destination search and select field does not currently work. I was only able to populate my destination by manually dragging the drop-pin on the map. Further development is needed before the Med City Taxi app will be a viable option for enhancing customer-experience... But If done correctly, this tool could also help to alleviate dispatcher call volume, while securely streamlining credit card payments. Currently, the drivers do not appear to be trained on how to process a card that was submitted with a ride request through the app... they still physically run the card upon arriving at the destination, which completely defeats the purpose of submitting/saving your credit card information in the application.
After multiple attempts at using the app, I find it to be frustrating when I end up calling anyways with no record of my reservation. This app is useless.
The app works fine but at the payment part there is no way to leave a tip so if you don't carry cash (welcome to 2017) it takes twice as long because the driver has to run a 2nd transaction for the tip just like before the app, saving you no time.
Med City Taxi has been the go to taxi service in Rochester for as long as I have lived here. Service is typically very good, a five star experience. As far as the app goes, it shows its age a bit. One nice benefit over using Uber and Lyft is that you can schedule a ride ahead of time. Those apps do offer scheduling, but not in the Rochester area at this time. In terms of the pickup experience, it does a good job notifying you when your cab is heading over and shows you where it is at, a la Uber. The biggest problem I had with the app was that it seems to timeout your session and require you to login after a very short period of time. The other problem I had with the taxi caller interface was that the website does not use HTTPS for login, so be sure you choose a unique password that you don’t use for anything else as it will go over the clear. These problems are not typical of apps/websites in 2017 and I hope they are addressed by Taxi Caller in the future.
