Lacking

liwalson

There are no recipes provided in the app. Everything must be provided by the user. It would be more useful if we could search a database with recipes while having the option to add our own if need be.

I want my money back

Why do I have to have a nickname?1

I thought I was buying a meal planning app. It doesn't come with any recipes. You have to add all of your own data, ingredients and all. This doesn't do anything that I don't already do, it just asks that I also take the time to input it into my iPhone. Complete ripoff.

Bad reviews were right!

The app's graphics looked good, so I bought it in spite of bad reviews... and regret my purchase. I hoped I could enter menus for each day, but to even list "fish", it has to be entered as a recipe first. EVERY menu item has to be entered as a recipe... milk, bread, cheese, etc. What a waste of time! I just want an app where I can plan weekly menus without having to put in recipes that I don't need or use. Don't buy this one unless you want to input a lot of information. It looked like a useful app, but it's not.

Best available

I looked and looked for what I wanted in a menu planner and have bought a few but none do what I want. This one comes the closest. I had to enter my food, like the other reviews said, but only once, then it is always there and if you only put Chili it doesn't care. If you want you can enter whole recipes and it will do a breakdown nutritionally, which initially is a bit of work, but once done, never needs to be done again. I would request a barcode scanner, though as that would help tremendously. And the ability to copy and paste recipes would be nice too.

Disappointed

I am really disappointed. You can only enter one item per meal/snack.

best meal planner

i've been looking for an app for helping to plan meals for my family. this app does a great job, and i especially love the fact that it generates a nutrition label for each meal. cool idea, and haven't seen that elsewhere. it can be a bit tedious creating recipes, since you need to search for each ingredient separately. i like that you can enter single foods instead... much easier. maybe consider adding a web interface to make creating recipes easier. overall excellent for what it is though.

Best around for the $$

I've looked for an app that can do it all, as this helps plan a menu, doesn't limit you to recipes (you can modify and add your own) the list of ingredients is huge, and you can add items if it's not on the list. The nutrition facts are great as it calculates it for your recipes it also let's you know how much your meal is. I'll add one more star when the web is up and pantry is added. The support has been great and responsive.

The best!

Ok but has potential

This is a good app idea but it needs some work. The biggest problem I have is that it keeps crashing when trying to enter a recipe and I have to reenter the title. It seems to remember what I entered but it was very frustrating. However like some of the other notes say once you enter your recipes they are always there. And I like the way it gets the grocery list from the recipes but you can also add grocery items. Another suggestion I have is to have categories for the grocery list that match the grocery store. For instance just having vegetable doesn't help. Is is canned or frozen or produce? Then I can make sure that I have everything from the produce section before I leave that area of the store. Would also be nice to have categories that don't pertain to food like health and beauty. That way the grocery list would be much more efficient. And I haven't been able to see a feature that just let's you add something for a meal without a recipe. For instance I might just want to have a bag of frozen French fries or I might just want to make a note that we are ordering pizza that night. I realize that the reason for the recipes is to get the grocery list. But I still think a note would be a nice added feature. It would be five stars if it could do all that! One last thought you should consider having a website where users could enter recipes and share them that could be snyced to the app.

Would like a refund!

Was excited to find an app to analyze recipes but it is cumbersome and is not accurate. Frustrated. Will go back my Internet web site.
