Great browser, and generally I support this browser. However, and it isn't the browser's fault. The fault is Apple. Apple still refuses to allow desktop extensions to even Mobile safari, much less any other browser. Apple won't allow denying SSL encryption, and force using TLS 1.1, 1.2, or the soon to be released 1.3. Each are monstrously better in security that SSL. Apple also won't let this, or any other browser, to use their own Nitro java engine, that is immensely faster, and better, than the standard java engine all other browsers are stuck using. People need to tell Apple we want desktop browser extensions, access to the Nitro java engine, and tighter security, by allowing setting TLS 1.1 or greater security, and block SSL connections. I give this browser, a great user experience, but I can only give 3 stars, until Apple gets off their butts, and starts adding features many users want.

I am so tired of watching chrome or safari eat the hell out of CPU and RAM. Chrome on the iPad is so limited - you can't close all tabs at once, no extensions and it's just slow. Along comes the new Maxthon browser - the coolly named MX5 (although it does sound like a Honda or Nissan). The most used extensions on my desktop chrome are built into this browser from the start. Notes, bookmark pages or snapshot them all in a wonderful outline style that I control. I can even send links from other apps like pocket or workflow and IFTTT and get a snapshot for keeping. I've used it to develop my own knowledgebase on certain APIs and code snippets that I might use in a future git project. And that's even cooler - I can export that info directly into my git app or into one of my markdown apps (editorials, Drafts, Bear, etc.) utilizing their built in workflows and URL callbacks, I can get so much more done in a day than I ever did before! I already had another app to track my times on my iPad (Realizd Pro) and I already use a task tracker (todoist), and I've noticed that since I started integrating MX5 into my workflow, I'm hitting production rates that I've never hit before, leaving more time for the girlfriend and golf (not necessarily in that order)! The dual rendering engine completely blows away other browsers on speed and the built in Adblocker is just genius! And if that wasn't enough, I can go from device to device and pick up the same tabs without having to go through a whole sync process like chrome! I no longer have to use a secondary password manager (that got bought out anyway and is being shut down for a paid version), and I have quick access to email accounts I can use for getting newsletters with links, promos, etc. And finally, while I had to switch to a customized start page to get access to just half of what I've mentioned here, their customizable start page with speed dial is perfect! On the desktop, would I love more extensions? Yes! But, I don't mind doing some of that work since Maxthon did the hard part. Besides, they thoughtfully put a plugin manager in here for the UUMail and Adblock, so I think more is coming in future versions! Thank you Maxthon! And sorry for mentioning other apps, but I wanted to show how versatile this wonderful browser is in a workflow!

Browsing speed surpasses safari, plus simple data cleanup. Still learning all the features. Does as promoted.

With Opera's latest update for Mobile (Opera Mini) along came headlines and ads which slowly load first - then the home page. MX5 is a blazing fast and clean browsing experience. I've used Maxthon desktop for years.
