Finally, the perfect scouting app!

Claire Mueller

This is literally the first review I've ever written for an app, and I knew immediately when I started using it that more people need to hear how great it is! It's simple to use and does exactly what I hoped it would. The perfect way to organize my favorite locations for sessions. So much easier than trying to find that scrap of paper where you wrote where that cool wall was! Get this app, you won't regret it!!

Prime example of how app designing should be, simple, effective, useful, elegant.

Definitely worth the money.

Great app, does what it promises, fun and easy to use.

Great location scouting app

This is a very simple to use. Has everything needed to document a location (photos, key words, GPS coordinates/address). Love that you can share the location notes and photos via email. Would give it five stars if only there is an easier way to add a new location that you are currently not at. I would love a feature that allows you to input an address or GPS coordinates for a new location and have it save that spot on your list. Currently, the map defaults newly added locations to the same exact spot it thinks you are at that moment using the iPhone's GPS or wifi location. Then, you would have to manually move the location map pin to the correct location. Would also love to see a way to share the actual app file with another map-a-pic user so that they don't have to re-enter the data or import the location photos from an email.

A little slow to start up but has dramatically sped up my location based workflow. Does exactly what it's supposed to do!

BEST location scout Photo Note App!!!

This app is worth the money! Its simple to use, reliable, works with your google maps app, and has the best workflow and layout for creating, managing, map tagging, and returning to tour new and old locations. I looked at A LOT of location manager apps and picture/note apps and MAP-A-Pic just made the most sense. My suggestions for ULTIMATE location Management in this app would be to integrate the capabilities of recording sound for voice memo notes and location's nat sound/ room tone which can sometimes make or break a location choice. Also, it would be smart to integrate a couple extra camera features found in the Free AWESOME Camera! App by SmugMug, i.e., the separate manual focus and exposure target controls and locks. Lastly, providing 16:9 and 4:2 masks or labeling them as such in the cropping feature of the editor (which already has sweet features) would make this app ridiculously powerful, better than the EverNote app, and essential for all photographers, videographers and film peeps out there.

Great with slight quirk

Truly wonderful and practical app. Must have for lens professionals, but also easy to use and great for any photo enthusiast. Only problem is with Instagram cross posts. Despite instructions in help section none of the offered solutions work. Hopefully an update will resolve this.

Doesn't back up

jjdaven

Most everything this app does is great. It's what it doesn't do that is the most frustrating. I have been to multiple states and gone through all the trouble to take several photos of great locations and make good notes and so forth. Just to have the app suddenly for no reason at all just erase all my locations. This has happened to me a few times already. They really need to back this app up to the cloud so u don't just lose all your info.

Exactly what we've been waiting for!

Love every bit of it. Look forward to updates and to see how far they can take this idea!

I've been looking for this for years

As an avid landscape photographer who is always on the lookout for great locations to return to later, I never could find an app that was right or the job. In fact just yesterday I thought I would have to create an app myself even if it was just for me. So glad I came across this. The one thing I wish the app would do is back-up over iCloud.
