I only got this app to work once. Since then, it's been a mystery why it doesn't connect to my bridge. Also all of the user interface is far from 1st Rate design. Needs a lot if love, both in UI and backend intelligence, to bring the star rating any higher (and I'm rounding up to two stars).

Doesn't even run

Oh well...

Good dance option

This app's dance function is good, if you just want a random light show to go with your party music. It doesn't give you any other options though.

I'm diggin' This App, Man!

I had the old-school color organs back in the late 70's and early 80's. There were only the three colors (Red for Bass,Green for min-range, and Blue for Treble) whose brightness varied with the volume of its respective frequency range. This App will rapidly randomize the colors, and is extremely responsive. Excellent for entertaining where you plan for a darkened, almost club-like atmosphere. As another reviewer pointed out, the device with which you are running Magichue cannot be the device you use to play music. If this were possible, I would award it 5 stars. I'm sure it would be no easy feat to program in this ability without Magichue being the App that is also the music player. But still, i really enjoy the speed at which the colors respond. Job well done.

Terrible User Interface

If an app like this isn’t intuitive, it’s worthless. I don’t want to have learn my way around someone’s half-assed design skills in order to have disco lights.

Really friken awsome!!!!

Nice and fast!

Buddy Lingus

I'm not sure how the developers did it, but this thing drives my bulbs fast. I picked up quite a few dedicated hue apps the first week I bought my starter kit and all of them seem to have a slight fade between color changes... Nice for most situations — but a total bummer when you want to do fun stuff like synching your lights to (any kind of popular) music. This app seems to be able to run the bulbs fast enough to keep up with anything. Thank you :-)

Nice but useless without music

talltex

It doesn't allow you to play music while running, so is completely useless if you are using a Bluetooth speaker with your device. Otherwise a simple fun app.

not so great

Can’t just start with a scene from the main Hue app Can’t us feed from iTunes directly — has to use mike which means phone must be near your stereo system. Cant seem to quit the app - stopping the action going to another app seems to leave it running One you set hue for a light that I can’t see that the color of any light changes - it just changes in brightness.
