I seem to be losing more then I am investing on days I have had NOTHING but gains. They have an obscure accounting system that randomly decides to take money out of your acct. The app likes access to your bank, then they charge you non sufficient funds if your funds don’t hit In 10 minutes. In Amerika some banks take 3 days.

M1 is absolutely what I’ve been looking for in an investment service. It has made it incredibly easy for me to put together the portfolio of ETFs that I want to invest in. I especially love that they support fractional shares so all my money can be invested. Feature request for app: I would like to see a screen that shows all of my accounts. It’s a little annoying to switch from Roth to Individual to Traditional accounts through the side nav. I’d like to be able just glance at balances/performance. I’d also like to request a way to see my IRA contributions for the year or see how much I have remaining that I can contribute.

I Love this app because I have control on where my money has been invested, It does a great analysis of your balance and it has information for each investment, it rebalances on an easy way when I deposit money in to it. It is a friendly interface, I started just a Month ago and for sure I will keep using it for long years to come. I already showed it to my co-workers, they are interested and they are starting using the app for their investments, I am sure M1 finance will be number one option for passive investors soon. Congrats to the Team to make investment account very easy to manage, I wish you the best, and I am sure you are the best investment option nowadays :)
Concept is awesome but app crashes

Every time I try to do anything at all on this app it just closes. Would love to test it out but can’t get very far.

With the new update the time frame views are broken (and pull down to refresh is STILL broken). This isn’t that complicated of a feature and this update made it WORSE. Edit: I restarted the app and now I can’t even log in...

(Edited 4/27/18) I really wish I’d discovered this app before Stash, and then again before I switched to Betterment a year ago. The thought of the missed profit opportunity and fee savings is actually kind of depressing. If your goal is to build wealth over the longterm, there simply is no better option out there than M1 Finance. If you’re opening a Roth, seriously, there is no better option. The pie wedge approach is perfect for setting up and monitoring a longterm investment portfolio. You can buy fractional shares of practically any publicly traded fund. There are no commission or account maintenance fees, so the only costs you really need to be concerned with are fund expense ratios and tax implications. The UI could use some tweaking, and the app has been a little buggy—I’ve gotten a few errors here and there—but for the most part, everything works as it should. And both times I’ve contacted customer support, they’ve responded the same day with relevant, helpful information. If you’re interested in active trading, this isn’t the app for you. If, however, you’ve been eyeballing robo-investors like Acorns, Betterment, Stash, or Wealthfront, or you’re just looking for a simple way to save money, look no further than M1. All you have to do is plug in a portfolio to your liking (the simple Boglehead 3-fund is a no-brainer for me), and let it work for you. A few suggestions: -The ability to view a single pie of all M1 accounts. I have both a Roth and a taxable account through M1; the former is primarily domestic funds and bonds, the latter primarily international funds. It would be downright genius to allow us to view all of these investments at once to make balancing evaluation a little easier. -“Round up” deposits, as supported by apps like Acorns and Qapital. -Instant deposits. I understand that you’re working with only one trading window per day, but it would still be nice to see those funds immediately show up in the account. -Along those lines, it would be nice to be able to see total available funds including cash on the main portfolio screen.

Investing is pretty insinuating but it couldn’t have been made easier now. It’s super easy to use this app.
