Fantastic!!

I have been looking for a good, single player turn-based tactics game. This one is amazing! No BS 'in app purchases'. No annoying 'energy counter' limiting your play. Just a solid, fun, deep, and excellently designed game. I am so glad i finally found a fun game to play on my phone!! Thank you, and keep up the great work. I hope to see a sequel!!!

Absolutely wonderful. Good strategic depth, challenging battles. The deck building concept for your leader's abilities is truly innovative, and wonderfully useful. If you like SRPGs, this is a must buy. Think Fire Emblem, with customizable units.

Awesome game!

Similar to the excellent Tactical Warrior, with an interesting card mechanic. Buy it! You won't regret it!

Wow!

Like Final Fantasy Tactics and Shining Force, only fabulous artwork! Love it.

Tactical Warrior + space + skill cards

Great buy if you liked Tactical Warrior. It utilizes the same engine. Many moves are repeated in some form or another. The game is a bit deeper with the skill card mechanism. I'm finding the game difficulty challenging but not too overwhelming. Overall a great buy.

Fast and deep. Love it.

Tactical Warrior is one of the very best games I've played for iOS. I confess I'm only a couple dozen battles into LostStar Tactics so far, but the core mechanics are similar, so I feel comfortable rating it. Like Tactical Warrior, this is excellent. The battles are fast and highly tactical. Status effect, attack types, movement range, stamina, special abilities, etc. are all hugely important, but there aren't so many variables that you can't keep track of it all. Basically, it doesn't waste its modest complexity--every bit adds directly to making the decisions interesting and tough. That's the highest praise you can give to a game like this, I think. Similarly, the customization strikes a perfect balance between making your band of warriors your own, and presenting you with constrained and interesting decisions. Each warrior has only two item slots, four active ability slots, and four passive ability slots. You must use them each well! I really like how the new level-up interface gives you more information now about how your decisions will impact your stamina, something which was a little vague in Tactical Warrior but very important. The biggest changes from Tactical Warrior (besides the theme, new units, new abilities, etc.), are the new deck building mechanic for the leader and, or course, the graphics. The deck building mechanic is cool. So far, it doesn't seem quite as tight as the rest of the game (there's a higher complexity to strategy ratio), but it's a fun bit of customization. I also suspect it will get deeper and deeper as the game goes on and I collect more cards. The graphics in LostStar Tactics are much more detailed than the super simple cartoony graphics of Tactical Warrior, but I must say, I actually prefer the clearer, iconic graphics of the original. In Tactical Warrior, I could always tell at a glance whether a unit was primarily ranged, melee, or special. Here I find myself constantly tapping to see attack and defense types, even for units I should be familiar with by now. Everyone else seems to love the new graphics though, so it seems I'm in the minority. Anyway, graphical quibbles aside, this is a fantastic sequel to Tactical Warrior. I hope it takes off for James, because that man deserves to be rewarded for making such awesome tactical games. I know I'll keep buying every one.

More brilliance

A true gem in the world of strategy games. This game is filled with a variety of tactics and strategies to keep you playing and wanting to start over to try new methods. Can't recommend it enough.

Alright

I expected a bit more from this seeing as I enjoyed Tactical Warrior more, but it was a great game regardless. It seemed slightly short compared to what I expected, and the variety in roles able to be filled by each unit is quite lacking compared to TW. It just seems like a smaller version of TW, but with a neat little deck system for your captain. Also, past the 3 cost items, you hardly get any item upgrades worth mentioning in terms of really affecting gameplay (crit is the only impacting one besides stamina regen). I feel that is pretty upsetting seeing as how in TW, my poison archer, regen tank badger, heavy crit archer, and manyyy other unit styles/combos could be heavily improved by intelligent item choices, whereas on here, they don't make a huge impact (relatively speaking, they just don't impact gameplay enough, and the styles of each class are set to one role).

Big bad bug...

Game is one of the best strats I have played on iOS. But I have encountered a glitch after I was about half way through the game that makes it unplayable. My captains buttons disappear and I can't end my turn. Game over, have to exit battle, won't stop doing this. PLEASE update!

Very difficult

I can't even get through the second crash site on normal. I didn't want a game I can't even put in a hour before I am completely overwhelmed.
