Im not a CCG fan but Lost Portal was recommended as one of the better ones and glad I gave it a try. Im addicted and will be getting the expansion once im done with the main game.

As a MT:G fan, I'd give it 10 stars if I could!

Man, this game. For years, YEARS I tell you, I've wanted a Magic: The Gathering RPG where you fight battles with a CCG-style card deck. For those of you old enough to remember there was a game for PC in 1997 called Shandalar that was exactly that concept. Sadly it never got a follow up. Enter Lost Portal. While it may not be MT:G exactly, you can tell that it is heavily (and I mean heavily) influenced by the Wizards of the Coast juggernaut. The mechanics are instantly familiar. Draw cards, play aeons *cough* mana *cough*, cast creatures & spells, kill your opponent, rinse, repeat. But that isn't even the half of it! Lost Portal also has some fun and engaging RPG elements to it like a skill tree that alters and improves game mechanics in your favor (be careful though, your opponents can benefit from the same skills) and quests/quest rewards. I LOVE this game. Like, this is the CCG game I've been waiting for since, oh, about 1998. It's a shame that there is a one-star review from someone who clearly doesn't understand how a CCG works, as it spoils what should otherwise be a resounding 5-star rating here on the App Store. The only potential negative is that there is no multiplayer (so no PvP). But this game is so clearly a single player RPG that I don't count that against it at all. If you want multiplayer/PvP, play MT:G. If you are a fan of CCG's and role playing games, you owe it to yourself to spend the $2 buck on this game. And that's another thing: $2 bucks?! That's a STEAL! I'd honestly have paid $10 for an amazing CCG in today's App Store that doesn't abuse me with free-to-play nonsense. Buy Lost Portal Now.

Best Game Ever for magic players

I absolutely love this game. It is fantastic deck building game that can be challenging or easy depending on the settings. The graphics are amazing. The game play is phenomenal. I do not usually post reviews but this game is worthy of a positive review. Totally worth the purchase.

Best single player CCG for IOS

Sometimes it hard to enjoy modern CCGs as an adult. Time constraints, and specifically interruptions (kids) make it difficult to get a full game in online. Lost Portal gives me the CCG fix and I can pick it up or put it down whenever it's convenient for me (the former much easier than the latter) I've spent an incredible amount of time with this game and have yet to buy the expansion. Comparing cost vs enjoyment with other CCGs this game blows them all out of the water. It's the cost of what, one MTG booster pack? Pick it up, you will not regret it.

New game plus, please

As enjoyable as any card game on the platform.

Be prepared to lose, often

Just about ready to delete this game. Playing on casual, and loosing about 80% of the time. I like a challenge, but this is not fun. Gold trickles in, but cards cost too much for the decent ones. AI *always* gets the right card at the right time, while you draw crap...6 turns in a row without drawing an aeon card (equivalent to mana in MTG) when that type is 34% of my deck?!? The odds of that must be in the hundreds of millions. Total grind fest just to earn enough gold for one decent card. The only reason this doesn’t get one star is that there are no iap’s to get gold or loot drops. You earn everything in game, but it might take years...

Great game and great guy

So I was actually working with the developer to fix his daughters computer and I saw him playing this game. I thought it was hearthstone so I sparked up conversation about the game. He told me this was his game where it’s like hearthstone but there is an adventure aspect to it. I had him there a long time and figured I would throw the $1.99 into the game to check it out. Not only do I love it but it has allowed me to finally delete hearthstone from my phone. The quests are awesome. The game play is slightly challenging, but still good enough to not get frustrated. The UI is very easy to get used to. Overall very good job sir!

Over a year played

This was my 1st CCG I ever bought. I have tried others such as Pathfinder and liked this one more due to the dark nature but it is repetitive. I still love playing it tho. The developer is still updating here and there which gives me hope that he or she will take the game on a story driven mode or even like the mentioned game earlier since it is a game with little to no bugs as far as I have encountered. I found that the story mode in the game was nothing more than footnotes from a book and not engrossing character play.

This is a fun and challenging game

I just started playing this game and it is a lot of fun, and challenging even on normal difficulty. I enjoy card games like Hearthstone and RPGs like D&D so this is a nice mix. I also like the fact that it has a campaign where you earn gold to purchase new cards and level your character. I am looking forward to finishing the campaign, this little game is well worth the money if your into RPGs and card games like Magic.
