Best App Bookmark Utility/Wishlist Replacement
Method5440

I was a heavy user of the App Store wishlist (now deprecated) but absolutely hated the fact that you couldn’t save ‘free’ apps in the list. What if you weren’t on WiFi and wanted to save it for later - or wanted to wait for a time when your device had enough free space to download a larger app? Keeping text lists was time consuming and annoying. I wrote some Workflow processes to strip app names and keep a text list up to date... but that became unsustainable when the App Store changed up format - not to mention that there were some key things that just couldn’t be accomplished via Workflows. I was overjoyed to find Lookmark and scooped it up right away. The app keeps track of all of the iOS/Mac apps that I’m watching and, with a subscription, keeps me up to date of app updates and price drops. The fee is about a dollar per month (a tiny bit more) but it’s worth it for me. I do think that largely limiting the app to iTunes content is a small drawback but it’s an understandable one. I’d love for it to recognize an IMDb page and pull the movie info from there - similar to how I can pull audiobooks from audible... but you’d only be able to handle so many of those and never please everyone. My recommendations - the app needs to have some ways of working with the lists at bulk level - sorting, removal of duplicates or prevention of adding an app already in the list, marking all or many as read and the ability to group or prioritize the apps. Regarding the grouping I’d like to be able to prioritize, group them based on apps vs games and even mark them as apps I’m watching to buy vs apps that I’ve already bought and removed from my device but that I’d like to revisit later. I think these features could be added fairly quickly and sustainably by the developer. I hope and believe that the developer is willing to continue to improve the app so I’d start with a few quick wins like these. Overall this app is the best of its kind and functions very well without the subscription. Having subscription choices based on level of use is also a smart choice. In my opinion there’s no reason not to use this get this app ASAP.

Doesn’t work for me
Khal Moro

Created account. Watched the videos which are very straightforward. Added items but they don’t show up anywhere. Tried it from phone and MacBook with the extensions for Safari and Chrome. Nice idea but just doesn’t work. Waste of my time. Disappointing. Deleting now.

Update wiped all my bookmarks
BlaCThUnder

Why? I hope that wasn’t the intended outcome. If it was, a warning to users would be nice. If it wasn’t, how can I get my bookmarks back?

Glitched
Shabootz

Most recent update deleted what apps I had saved, which honestly wasn’t very many but still. And now as of the recent update whenever I try to add a app to my list it just causes the App Store to freeze and no bookmark is created.

Doesnt work
Alkan1995

I have to login to use the app, and the app tells me my username is already taken when it didnt ask me for a username Edit - it was a bug, I tried more emails and closed the app. It apparently takes your email but tells you it didnt work even though it does. The app is useful now

Wishlist replacement
the monkeyhouse

A great replacement for the old iTunes wishlist. Remember to create an account so you don’t lose you list!

Too few features (even with subscription)
Handbox

I miss the Wishlist feature in the native App Store and was hoping this would be a better replacement. There’s no way to sort or categorize apps (forget having your own folders, tagging or adding notes), As far as premium goes, price watch sounds like a nice feature but at the subscription cost there’s no guarantee the discount alerts will make up for what this is asking.

My go to app for price watching and update monitoring
pinkoos

I love this app - please ignore the negative reviews. Indie app developers need to make money and this subscription is well worth it. I’ve saved enough money on apps after being notified by Lookmark of a price drop to pay for several years worth of subscriptions. I also use it to notify me of apps that I’ve uninstalled that have updates - I can read the update notes to see if it’s worth reinstalling said apps.

Stopped working month ago
Rodscha

Can’t save anything from the App Store anymore. Just stopped working a few month ago (on iPhone XS). Desperately needs an update but it looks like the app is abandoned (last update 8 months ago).

No longer functions
The Original Sofa King

Was great when it worked. No update in 8 months. Update 07-13-19 App now functions again. Thanks to the developer.
