How is the algorithm supposed to get smarter when the only sources I’m offered are biased to the left source material. Search Fox News and nothing pops up, regardless of opinions you’d offer a range of sources to include those who don’t fit your ideologies. CNN, MSNBC, and countless other left leaning sources yet nothing for the the conservative Millennials. So you get one star because there’s no way your app can provide a great service while being biased.

A TV journalist’s opinion | Highlights of late night talk shows are fine, but Haystack’s hard news is rehash of the already-heard and the getting-stale-fast — like Newsy, one of its sources. Both are devoid of breaking, exclusive, and investigative reports. Amateur curators are at work here, if human journalists are even involved. I see none mentioned. News is too important to be picked by algorithms incapable of real journalistic judgment. That’s how fake news spreads. Haystack’s local stories are usually fluff filler pieces from late in my hometown newscasts (when viewers are tuning out), never the most important stories. I have yet to see a top story or breaking item, but then they only carry one station’s work here – not the best news shop, but a second-rate outfit hungry for exposure. Note, too, that Haystack declines to identify the organizations presenting its alleged awards — suspiciously sketchy sourcing. Haystack is an app programmers’ news toy, not the real deal.

Fluid transitions between clips, mostly good mix, limited ad interruptions. Previous version issue for me resolved, was: For the past couple of weeks the current version skips videos - ending in a constant skip of videos - app restart needed to stop it for skipping Used to work well!

Edit: Here come the video adds. The groupon add is annoying. I know they pay for the app but at least let us skip it otherwise people will flee the app. I found this app after one of dozens complaining about the large amount of adds on the BBC app. While I think BBC may have heard customers, I tried this app. This is a review after just 30 minutes if usage, I will say that this app beats all the others out there. It's fast and easy to maneuver around. It beats the pants off the American news apps. (And I'm American)so give it a try. If you don't like it, just give it the boot! I think you'll like it though. This is just my opinion.

Works out for me, I am not always where I can get the news on tv and I just do not trust some news channels, so for I have been well pleased to hear the news like it really is.
