I have used other news apps before but this one is outstanding! I use Chromecast this is perfect for that! I just turned it on and let it go. I never miss a story :-)

Summations of the late night shows are awesome, but a huge preponderance of hard news is rehash of everything we’ve already heard everywhere else. Site needs fresher, hard-hitting original investigative material and exposés. Sky News and Vice offer that, as do some of the Editor’s Choices, but their picks seem to shy from such pieces in favor of warmed-over repetitions — like Newsy’s stuff. Selection of stories from my local outlets are generally fluff filler pieces from late in their newscasts. I have yet to see a local lede or breaking news story (do they know what’s big news here?), but then they only carry one local station. Hope it truly becomes what it promises — a source for true news junkies. Fingers crossed.

I got rid of cable months ago and the only thing i’ve missed is having a news channel on in the background as i did things at home. well, they fixed that and it’s news i can tailer to my interests. love it. thanks Haystack!

I can just put it on in the background while I'm doing work and hear everything I need to know about what's going on in the areas that interest me. Great timesaver
Ok but has bugs

It is ok for local news, but the filters do not appear to be working. Items i dislike constantly reappear. The items starred in the topics selection do not show up. The only reason to us an app like this is for the filtering ability, and it’s not working
