Best of the free SIP phone apps

cftc

There is plenty to love and hate about this app, but the fact is this app has been the most reliable and regularly updated iOS SIP phones I have found. Thanks Linphone!!! Correction: Bluetooth issue was in iOS not this app.

Great

Shixu Li

Hope SIP will running in the background again. This is the only part I don’t like about the app, otherwise this app is perfect!!n

Crashes during SIP configuration

voip-admin

Crashes every time when attempting SIP sever configuration.

V4 update breaks SIP registration

volunteer-tech

The v4 update breaks registration to FREEPBX 13 (asterisks based pbx)

V4.0.2 broke my intercom video

x1cowgirl101

Sip intercom stopped working with this update on video feed.

App Crash

perter-qiang

After 10 minutes of video call the app flashes back The detection is that the memory is increasing to much

Cannot make calls

Shugabear509

Everytime I try to make a call from contacts, I receive an error message.

Awesome SIP client. But often - audio volume is low.

Andrew.VS

This is the best client in terms of voice quality. The only major issue I have with it - there is no option of audio volume preamplification. Often you can barely hear the person on the other side when you are in a somewhat noisy environment. If there would be configurable preamplification - I would give 5 stars!

Doesn’t work in background

EMM386

This is awesome. Supports many configurable settings. However only way I can receive calls is have the app open on screen and iPhone cannot be in sleep or locked. I have notifications and background refresh on.

Great client w bugs

No option for alternate sip port in account. If use proxy with port # it works to register but will not use the correct port number for return traffic and call drops after 30 seconds. TLS registration isn’t working correctly need further debug. User agent leaks device name. Privacy and security issue. Might be a problem with ipv6 only networks also. Also using a non-Linphone sip account there are still many connections to sip.linphone.
