Instructions:
1. Choose the ISO, Aperture (or Shutter) values according to your camera settings.
2. The priority changes automatically to Aperture (or Shutter) mode when you change the Aperture (or Shutter) value.
3. Tap anywhere on the camera's preview screen to measure and update the exposure values.
Tips:
• You can switch the priority mode by just tapping on the Shutter or Aperture values.
• Go to Lightmate's settings to change the EV scale or disable user interface sounds (iOS Settings > Lightmate).

Works for estimating long exposures

l went through half s dozen exposure meter apps before finding one that helps estimate shutter speeds for long exposures. It's the only apps that would calculate shutter speeds longer than 1/8 second.

I am new to film photography, so I was very concerned about making sure my photos were properly exposed. I found this app, and tested it out by taking exposure readings with both the app ans my digital camera. This app is completely accurate to a true exposure reading with an actual light meter, so if you’d rather not carry one of those around all the time, this is it.

This app recommends values that consistently underexpose my photos. This is a real drag when shooting on film. The interface is wonderful, I just wish the readings were more accurate.

Recently got into film photography and I have two cameras where I need a light meter to get my settings right (Mamiya 645, Canon F1) This isn’t much of a light meter but more of a spot meter. But needless to say it’s been working great for me. It’s simple, easy and pretty accurate (depending on what you want to expose) My rule of thumb is to tap the mid tones/ shadows of what to take a picture of and put the suggested camera settings into my camera and the results turn out great.
