The Lickety Split Musical Timer turns daily tasks into a fun, beat-the-clock game. Accelerating classical music encourages dawdling kids to get going, while an animated hourglass counts down. The abstract concept of time becomes tangible for kids.
The timer uses encouragement and the power of music to motivate children as they move through daily transitions. So, instead of nagging, grown-ups are free to champion their kids!
Developed by parents and educational technologists. Perfect for preschoolers, early elementary schoolers, and their grown-ups.
Built-in musical timers include:

* Ready to leave the house in 5 minutes
* Getting dressed
* Getting ready for a meal
* Cleaning one's room
* Making one's bed
* Brushing teeth (for a full two minutes)
* Taking turns
* Study Quietly

Or select a song from your library to create your own timer of any length!

Best App Ever!!

I am 15 years old and I use this app daily, it is so fun! It helps to get me moving on sluggish mornings when I don't want to get out of bed.... I just turn on the timer and that is enough to get me moving! Now my room gets cleaned eagerly every day whereas it used to be a pigsty. Five stars! I love this app!

Gets my kids going (both special needs and typical). Love it, recommended it to many parents.

Custom timer does not allow you to enter specific times. We were hoping to get an adjustable timer that would allow 15 or 30 minutes. This timer currently only allows certain times such as four minutes or 10 minutes.

Best. App. Ever.

Our four (4) year old daughter was giving us quite the headache when it came to getting dressed and undressed for bed/shower/school/church. After a week long introduction of this app our daughter now loves to play "Beat the timer" when she's getting dressed and undressed. She even wants to use it to make her bed and brush her teeth. It has fully eradicated her resistance but it has greatly alleviated the tension surrounding the aforementioned activities.

Really cool

Really cool encouragement app for kids. Works a lot better than telling them 20 times, and my 2 boys that are school age are very competitive so this really helps me with them in the mornings

Good app

I wanted to use this app for work in speech therapy sessions for a variety of tasks. I like that it has a visual timer and the music is great too! My kids at home love it even more! It is great to have it in the morning when they need to get ready for the bus on time. They love competing to see who's the fastest with it. The only downside is that I wish you could customize the time with what you want and not just a button with set numbers. My son needs to read for twenty minutes every night and I would love to be able to set it to that in the reading section. Also, they need more time for cleaning their rooms too. If you could set your own time, this would definitely be a five star app.

The idea is really good and tracking all the chores my children have to do each day is great; but, the countdown timer isn't really something that works for us. A major room cleaning can take *hours* and breaks/tv time/etc are all fine as long as it's done that day - so the timer makes no sense. Other things are the same way in our home - it's not a matter of "doing it fast" - we prefer doing it right and as long as it's done, we don't really care when or how long it takes.

Love the new custom timer/song!

Have been using this app for months, amazed that the kids still ask for it and beam with delight when they beat it. Love that the new version lets you change time lengths by picking your own song. I use the "hamster dance" song from my library for room clean up and it works like a charm!

I set alarms for my daughter all the time. She probably doesn't need it as much as I do since she has a great internal clock. The music with this app is kind of distracting and I find a plain alarm to be better for our needs.
