Awesome game!

Biscuitvleaver

I heard about this game a while back, played a demo and was blown away. This game is great on iPhone but will be awesome on iPad!

Fantastic TD game. Great entry to the genre.

I have played pretty much all of the TD games that have come out for the iphone, and this is one of the best. It needs to save your game at the current spot and then it will be a 5 star game. Very good job.

Wonderful. Absolutely wonderful. So much fun. It's so addicting. Best td game in a while. So worth the cost.

Fantastic TD game. Great map editor.

Rogue0311

This is just plain fun. So far I'm loving the game. Could use a zoom our function so you can see the entire map w/out having to scroll and an autosave. The map editor is a great little addition that adds potentially tons of replayability. Made my first simple test map, Red Invasion. Definitely worth the money. UPDATE: Okay, so looks like I missed a couple things. There is a zoom function and autosaves at beginning of each level. Thanks to the Devs for pointing this out. So now we know that they are active, read the reviews and care about making the game better. Now that deserves an extra star in my book. Something that the bigger developers should learn to practise. Kudos to the Last Front Dev Team.  One suggestion for the Map Editor. Show what version your created map is. So when you edit and improve a created map, other players will know to redownload the latest version.

Great War-Themed Tower Defense Game

iphonie

If you check my other reviews, you can see that I play a lot of Tower Defense games on the iPhone. I don't have all of them, but I have all of them that matter. :) This newly released WWII-themed game seems to be a great addition to the TD genre. I have only played through 5 levels, but so far it's fun, well balanced, original (for the iPhone at least), nice looking, and stable. The idea behind the game is that you have to defend your base from soldiers, tanks, airplanes, and other instruments of war. You do that by building your own tanks, guns, etc. The number of defenses available to you increases as you beat more and more levels in the campaign mode. There are lots of different maps (including the ability for users to create their own), medals to be won, obstacles you can place, some kind of "Advantages" system that I haven't explored much yet, and various fight modes including (I think) multiplayer. Basically, for the price, this seems to be a very feature-rich TD game. I'm not sure how many of the extra features I'll use, but they are there if you're into those elements. My requests are the following: 1. More time between waves to move my units. By the time I click on them to move them, the turn has started and they can't be moved. 2. Improved system for placing units. With my finger on the unit, I can't see exactly where I'm placing it. 3. A better way to tell where units can and cannot be placed and where enemies can and can't walk. Sometimes it's hard to figure out exactly what the terrain is. 4. The ability to click on medals to see what they mean. Why make us go to the website for that info? 5. Better unit upgrade graphics. It's hard to tell which units are upgraded and which ones aren't. How about different graphics for each unit upgrade? Overall, this game is definitely worth the money, at least for me. It's different than any other iPhone TD game that I've played, it seems well polished, and most of all - it's fun. Hope to see some updates soon!

GOOD!!!

Bunch of yawns.

This app showed me that really anyone can develop a TD app. Although the graphics are average, and the music typical, what this TD really lacks is dynamic and challenging play. For example: Playing this game, as I find myself agonizing over the slow, crawling tempo, I build myself a few extra towers, and let the game run. I set the iPhone down on the coffee table, and proceed to use the restroom. I'm away from the game about 3-5 minutes. I return, then pick up where the game currently is in progress. I've had ZERO infiltrations. Now, if you think this is a true-blue TD game, you my friend sadly belong in the TD bush leagues. As for the hard-core TDer's out there, my advice is develop a TD app yourself, as this could easily provide the inspiration for that. Or..save your money, and move on right along..

Ehhhh...

Sark Natron

Feel a little cheated by the reviews, very vanilla tower defense game, nothing groundbreaking here...

Fun fun fun

I am having a great time playing this game. It keeps getting more and more challenging and the map builder is very cool.

Fieldrunners, but not Fieldrunners

WhoDatNinja?

Are people playing past level two before reviewing? What starts as an easy open-field Fieldrunners-style TD game gets progressively more interesting as you unlock towers and the levels get more complicated. Sure, you can play it like a standard TD at first, but things get more strategically interesting as you go. It's still 100% Tower Defense, but there's more nuance to this one than people seem to be giving it credit for. That's to say nothing of the free downloadable, player-made maps. Tons of potential there for incredible replayability. Fieldrunners is great, and looks better than this one graphically, but Last Front is just a different experience. A fun one. Grab it, give it a play, and go make me an awesome map or two. :)
